I always found it really weird and unproportionate to have big melon boobs and a Hank Hill butt.
Sure, I can just reduce the bust but let's be honest here...

I wouldn't say there is "insane" bust customization. Most gear changes your bust size to the piece of gear being equipped. And most gear covers the butt with some sort of skirt or cape these days. Even if you did get a butt slider, it would just get adjusted into the gear anyway.I’m new to posting on these forums compared to the rest of you who have been posting for years, so I apologize if I’m out of the loop. But why does Square Enix feel the need to give us insane Bust customization for females but no lower body customization?
I understand there are better things they can focus their resources and time on, I was just wondering. In my opinion, there is absolutely no logical reason to have one over the other, unless they personally prefer bust over lower body, haha. At the end of the day, both attributes are purely sex appeal.
I also see no reason why males don’t have a bust customization. For example, having a more muscular chest. Is there a reason for any of this?
Again, this isn’t an inflammatory thread to spark fights so please don’t fight with each other. Thanks.
I'm so so disappointed with the community right now.....

Haha, I absolutely agree with you. The look to me just looks too disproportionate. I personally find that look to be not very feminine. It’s like giving females the lower body of a 18 year old dude and the upper body of a female “adult” actress. There seems to have been no logic when designing characters.
I agree with that, that makes sense. However, there are quite a few of us that glam swimsuits or shorts to our jobs. For example, I glam a swimsuit to my crafters and gatherers, that’s literally all I wear. It’s all I’ve ever worn. The same exact thing. I just like the look of it. And I’m sure others are no stranger to wanting their characters to look “less boring.” :PI wouldn't say there is "insane" bust customization. i am surprised it wasn't said yet, but the difference is one is female only and the other would be for both which is taboo.
Has this been proven - eg. by looking at the same gear equipped by characters of the same race but different bust settings?
I find it hard to believe that the majority of gear looks the same on all characters as does on my zero-bust Midlander. Certainly some things are flatter than others, but either the game is very inconsistent with what things are adjustable, or people just see that "max setting on this gear piece" doesn't look the same as max setting on their starter gear, and assume there's no customisation going on at all.
But yes, unless they're going to go back and add adjustable sizing to every piece of leg gear (and make sure it doesn't clash with every single piece of body gear by clipping through in awkward ways) then there is simply a practical barrier to ever implementing a "butt slider". Especially considering the issues we're already aware of with Hrothgar and Viera not even having all headgear adjusted for them, at least within an ideal timeframe, and the recent Letter from the Producer talking about how having more character models to manage increases their workload and makes it harder to stay on schedule - and adding another slider would definitely do that.
There's also the issue of character data size - every customisation option adds more data to the character, and it has to be transmitted to every other player. If they decided they could increase the size slightly and add in some more customisation options, we could get another slider, but that same data could be used to add new face settings that would probably have a bigger impact on character design.
At a practical game level, the bust setting isn't going to interact with anything, but any body gear that is longer than waist-length (which is a lot of them) overlaps with the leg gear, and could clip through it. As far as I'm aware, there aren't any physics in play that will let a skirt attached to the body piece drape naturally - it sticks out at a fixed angle.
There was also the part they mentioned that adding butt sliders would require them to retexture every item of lower body clothing as increasing butt size with things as-is would mean a lot of pixelated graphics for anything covering that part of the body, in addition to it potentially clipping through some items of clothing. Basically, it's a lot of extra work to make things fit for very little return on that investment. Remember, we only got two half complete races for Shadowbringers because of clothing modeling issues, and a new race brings in a lot more revenue than a butt slider.I couldn't care less about this sort of stuff, but I remember reading about it somewhere once. It was a discussion on Reddit, and then somebody posted a link to some kind of information feed archive. You might want to take what I'm saying with a grain of salt because of that.
Apparently, It was a lazy rearrangement of butt vertices in the character models to prevent clipping with certain kinds of gear. There was no thought put into it. It just happened.
Now, in order to patch it out, they would actually have to develop and issue a patch for it. I imagine, at this point, it's a publicity thing. And that's saying nothing of sliders.
