The strangest thing happened today, and it amused me greatly.
I ran a Copperbell Mines today with what could only have been three completely new players. The run was slow but I let them go about learning the dungeon at their own pace for fun, only giving them a gentle push in direction at times when they got to a dead end and stood around like "uh.....where now?" We went everywhere and killed everything, pulling one group at a time. The tank looked genuinely surprised when that one Gigas pops out of the wall when you're making that single target pull. I had to get the blastpowder bags, lead them to the side rooms to kill the bombs to get the bags from them. All these little signs just kept piling up.
Then we got to the last boss. Oh my. We killed every single add that spawned. That second rock took almost no damage. I don't remember the last time I was in a group that bothered killing the adds. We were pros! I found it really fun, with how out of the ordinary the run seemed to be. Playing with bright-eyed newbies is almost always fun.
To be fair, that's ridiculous. When I run experts on my PLD I literally sprint to pacts (while regened) and run through them using flash (no shield lob even necessary as it can bork up your gcd for grabbing everything with flash) and even if u do miss one or 2 mobs that's what shield looks is for! Keep running, shield lob the ones behind you that you missed, and flash the next pact. Its tanking 101 lol. This BiS pld was just bad and salty af.
That was a response to "Oh, I'll just not tank for you if you heal for me" although if I were to tank, and the healer put regen on me mid/pre-pull, after asking them not to do it, I probably would kick them still if it wasn't a new player. To be fair, that's ridiculous. Since this discussion has gone for multiple pages (why?? who cares!?), I feel the need to re-establish the point that the "salty PLD" explicitly asked for no regen on pulls, and that request was ignored. THAT is the most irritating thing here.
Yes, everyone has established quite well that a regen on pulls isn't a problem by itself. I can handle it just fine too, but if someone asks me not to put a regen on them during a pull, the correct response is to not be a dick and not deliberately put a regen on them during a pull.
Can we please stop responding to this pages-old occurrence now and get on with the random DF tales? That's what I come for.

That’s what I didn’t like either. Both parties were in the wrong and being childish didn’t help their stance either. I’m not exactly sure why the regen thing keeps coming up, but it’s easy to toggle off when I tank. I think there is a macro too that does it for you? Though their replies are kind of showing that they care more about themselves than their party members so it’s a little sad to see.Since this discussion has gone for multiple pages (why?? who cares!?), I feel the need to re-establish the point that the "salty PLD" explicitly asked for no regen on pulls, and that request was ignored. As a healer main I dont get the argument about using regen pre pull, I stopped doing it because it made it harder on everyone. Can the tank get the aggro back? Sure but why not make it not an issue in the first place? Its not going to hurt to use regen AFTER pulls I do it all the time and I dps fine.
Oh my bad hashbrowns lol sorry bud
It does still happen at 70.
Whether it's a healer with Regen or a DPS single-targeting.
People are too afraid to run up to me. A few of them run away, but most of them just stay put -- which happens to be pretty far away, forcing me out of position, mobs to leave Doton/Shadowflare, the melee DPS having to chase everything down, and basically forcing me to create a big mess that I then have to clean up.
Which is only messy because the ones who are too afraid of getting into melee sometimes panic when I chase them down to peel the mobs off of them, as this horde of trash is now suddenly bearing down on them. I understand it's scary, but there's really nothing to be scared of!
I've learned to time my Flashes better, Flashing where enemies are going to be rather than where they are (probably to compensate for my 90-100 ping), but it would be a lot easier if people just ran up to me.
I appreciate Regens pre-pull. I really do. But as a WHM/AST main, if a person does this, they have to stick to the tank and not be afraid of melee.
Edit: I'd like to point out that my experience is mostly in the Ghimlyt Dark, where everything is super gated. In less gated content, this is never an issue because it's easier to time my Flashes, and I can get a solid lead on everyone with Sprint.

Between Holy and Assize a WHM should never be afraid of melee.
Oh cool so whatever role you play you still like to blame others for failing.
GCBTW.
