Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

I believe doing so will encourage more people to support to the Viera male cause, so I will continue to advocate as much. You're free to ignore the suggestion, though I'll confess to being a little confused as to why when Yoshi-P has already stated that child-like Viera are thankfully not going to be a thing.

I like to look at it as proof that the devs are considering things even more; they've clearly been made aware of this thread in some capacity but also to the community's reaction to the idea of childlike Viera and they chose to respond to both things in that release from Yoshida. The original post here now shows that the request may have initially been for something else but it's evolved with time.

I agree on the base point however, it'd be a lot easier to support if it actually reflected what's being requested now instead of being a time capsule from a month ago.

At this stage it serves no purpose since they're not adding a model along those lines, but eh, his choice I guess.

I wanted the cute ones because Im more used to the feol type veiras and like cute things, but creeps are why we cant have anything nice ever so Im fine without adding them.

Are the Feol not just a hybrid race? I'm not too familiar with their lore and when I looked it up it didn't bring up any size differences relative to full blooded Viera, other than the ears.

It makes me iffy because it feels like the idea to play as 'children' may have come from this thread. I do remember someone earlier on in the thread who was very much advocating for it using that image as a defence. But that's just me - I've always been against that child image.

Feol are indeed hybrid race - they look 'younger' and live longer, but they're the same height as normal Viera, I think their ears might be a tad smaller though.

It may have been one if the contributing factors for people who visit the forums but for Reddit and discord communities it was already out there.

I agree that editing the original post would be nice from the perspective of garnering new support but based on the aggressive reactions from the OP it likely won't be happening so it's kind of a moot point.

People can ask for what they would like, and argue for those points. Other people can disagree. However, one portion of an overall post or concept deters anyone from support, then you werent that invested in the first place. Particularly if they have a different vision. So if you think Male Viera should be tall elegant, or gruff and rough, but you wont post support because one position of some others want something more cutesy, then you really arent all that invested. It's literally like saying you wont say you wont voice your support for apple juice cause someone likes orange juice. And before the 'ethics' argument, that argument only makes sense when you square away how inconsistent the devs themselves have been on the subject and you acknowledge your position is anything youthful/cute = kids. That is, frankly, a can of worms and can be a topic of it's own (actually it is I think...).

That being said, at this time the simple fact is from what we know, they will be not "youthful or childlike in appearance." Devs have stated as much and explained their position. Thats fine. If people want to have wishful thinking, that is fine, but they have to understand that its not likely to happen. Devs have addressed the position directly. People can voice their gripes about hypocrisy or inconsistency, but regardless that point is moot now.

"The whole play as a child" has been around since the game was out. Not a recent development. The bunny people drama probably just was an opportunity for people of that inclination to try and wedge it in there.... again.

I believe you will still be able to make a 'feol' since they most likely have a younger-ish looking face (early 20ies one) and the only thing that differntiates them is smaller ears (I guess u can change ear size) blonde hair and younger faces (what we seen is 30ies female viera and feol might eb 20ies viera)
