While a great tank can work around it, throwing regen in between pulls does annoy quite a few tanks who aren't used to it (and even some who are). Depending on server ticks, it can cause mobs to suddenly start running all over the party and makes the tank have to stop and go back to aggro them instead of seamlessly pulling from one pack to the end without interruption. Was doing an expert roulette on my whm a few days ago. Was happy to see a full bis pld (omega western, the whole 9 yards). After the first mass pull he cries about about me throwing regen on him mid pulls so I just go "lol what?". He rounds up the 2nd mass pull and goes "i asked nicely" and proceeds to stand there and do nothing leaving me and the dps to tank it. In between holy stuns and healing myself mixed with a small bit of kiting I couldn't help but chime "whm tank > full bis pld? LOL" as we cleared the pact fairly easily. He dips once all the mobs are dead lol. Talk about entitled salt. And I'm a pld main my self ffs
That PLD's reaction however, was completely unnecessary :P
Edit: unless you meant in the middle of engaging the enemy after they're rounded up, and not regening him during the actual pull process. In which case I have no words.
Tank should just suck it up, I get regen on me all the time between pulls, and I can still manage to grab all the add with one aoe. Not to mention I am pretty sure you can just click it off. While a great tank can work around it, throwing regen in between pulls does annoy quite a few tanks who aren't used to it (and even some who are). Clicking off buffs on a controller isn't very intuitive unless you have macros, if they happen to be a controller player.
my bf & I have no problems with regening either - but it's easy to see why many do, especially if they're not used to it. The simple thing in these situations is for the tank to express their concern, and for the healer to hold off. Communication makes everyone happy.
Level 70 and you don’t know to not regen while tank is gathering adds. And you’re a tank main, ffs!Was doing an expert roulette on my whm a few days ago. Oh no, did the pld not have flash on his hotbar? Was ultimatum to hard to push? Regaining agro off regen ticks isn't hard. Idc when I tank if a healer puts regens on me if a mob is ripped off me its easily fixed unless the healer is running away from me. Seriously in that gear it should have been low brain effort to get the mobs back. Was doing an expert roulette on my whm a few days ago. The point is that the OP was asked to not do it and instead of being respectful to his team mate went “lul” and did it again knowing he would get a reaction. That kind of garbage behavior should not be encouraged, regardless of how easy it is to pick up trash.Oh no, did the pld not have flash on his hotbar? Was ultimatum to hard to push? While a lot of Tanks may not have problems with a mid-pull-regen, some may. And if they ask you not to, going all "lol" and doing it again is not the right answer.
Garbage behavior? Not cowing to the will of a tank, you mean?
Who cares if the tank requested it? He's going to still get enmity with one Flash either way, regens don't generate that much and nothing in Expert even hits hard enough that the healer taking a few auto attacks is the end of the world.
That tank was 100% wrong in everything he did, there is no excuse.
Sorry but the dude could just use flash. Healer could be being a jerk or perhaps there regens left over from previous pull, the post does not specify. But you know who suffers in this bc the tank could not grit their teeth and push one maybe two buttons? The dps who do not have instant ques like the tank or the healer in this story. I'm an noob tank and even I can successfully pull with regens on. If a bis pld can't handle regens or be bothered to click them off, then I can't be bothered to feel sorry for them. Bc in the end the dps got the shaft.
