Well when you make comments like that you're not really helping. It is a fact that most mentors are not in it to help people. See "most" and not "all" in that sentence.

I truly think adding a mount incentive to mentor roulette was a massive mistake
Should be removed at this point to help clean up the mentors who are doing it for the wrong reasons

Props to you for helping people out!

Going offline in order to force a vote kick so you can avoid a penalty is not allowed. For a single instance, GMs won't do anything unless they say something in chat that might make others think the disconnection was intentional. If the mentor does it enough times, maybe the GMs do something, but I wouldn't bet on it. Have you ever heard of a mentor losing their status?

Not as common since they removed the penalty for leaving a "full" party if someone else already did, but it can still happen if no one else in the party leaves before them or if they don't know how the penalty system works (seen with parties missing members voting to abandon instead of just leaving).

You receive no penalty if you get kicked. The goal is to force the party to kick them so they can queue into the roulette again instead of being locked out for 30 mins.

It's against the rules to go offline on purpose to avoid a penalty for abandoning, but a lot of things like this are against the rules. The difficulty comes with proving intent.

You only provided two examples of seeing this mentor; how many times did you see them disconnect in this way and was it more than just the once? The more times you see them do it the less likely you can attribute it to them just having a bad connection.

It's against the rules if you can prove it.

To be fair, while they should remove it or put the mount somewhere else, EX trials shouldn't be in the Mentor Roulette in the first place - so I can understand the frustration of getting an EX trial.

Ive done around 1.5k mentor clears now.

75% of them are very simple ... a dungeon a simple 8 man raid or even a guildhest. One or 2 new ppl say hi and if theres a wipe ill explain it.

However ... there are groups that attempt ex primals w/o any knowledge and guess what Ramuh ex synced is still endgame level difficulty.

Im talking about ppl who spam their combo finisher only, ppl that think cure is the natural upgrade of cure 2 and ice mages ... as well as ppl who go as a class not job.

More often then not these ppl queue for languages they dont speak or dont read chat.

There are roulettes that are doomed from the moment it loads, I've had Sephirot ex yesterday ... stayed and explained but we did not stay alive look enough to even get echo.

It comes down to the question. How much of this falls on the mentor, do i muscle through 90 min of something that has no chance to win? Do i take the penalty?

Ex primals shouldn't have been in roulette ever. We never did ex primals in duty finder ...we watched guides and made partyfinders with "training labelled"

If you tried to queue for seiryu ex and said "first timer blind" youd be met with cold silence.

Ramuh is likely more difficult then seiryu so why can ppl run ramuh blind? Because its old content?

Out of those 1500 runs I've won all ex trials but.

Ramuh, thordan, nidhogg, sephirot, sophia and zurvan. These duties just dont belong in mentor roulette.

And on a sidenote mentor roulette have no single check for "is there a new player" if a duty does not fill its moved to mentor roulette. I've been mentor for a premade party of 3 doing ex roulette.

"A label is only meaningful when it has a meaning."
-Me, quoting my poorly worded wisdom like an idiot.

I think I have a potential solution to the "Mentor Hate" plague.

Simply disregard the crown icon and pretend it doesn't exist. At that point, a person is only a mentor when they're helpful.

He only used 3 single target attacks. When asked why did he missed the LB, he just said "I don't really care" lol.
I'm sorry, but that's pretty funny. I would have been stitches if I saw that real time.

Not being quick enough to move from landslide, let me finish that 0.5seconds of a cast!!
Being gaoled when he shrinks the platform (ie not being under his butt) and falling to your death. Most new people will see them get a marker, panic and run away from the group.
Not being stacked for puddles, I mean, this doesn't happen for Nidhogg, Alphascape V3 and a few others where you can bait poop puddles, so not even just new players fail at this.
    Not dpsing quick enough
Not knowing the explosive rock patterns
Not dealing with the 2 adds quick enough and they drop fire-slow puddles

All of these are unknown things to new players and perhaps even older players who unsynced their way to unlocking the roulette.

and damn this was a fun trial pre-HW. Some good memories.
