Mixed Races

i think we should have greater freedom in character customization. basically i noticed how some npcs have custom bodies (ie nero tol scaeva is a hyur head on a male elezen body) or how gosetsu is for all intents and purposes a human head on a roegadyn body.

i'd like to be able to make characters like that myself. some combinations wouldn't really work (ie lalafell, though perhaps they could be as tall as the shortest female aura)

in the case of particular racial features (miqote eyes and tails, elezen ears, aura tails and scales), they could be a toggle.

Not really sure how good those examples are. Since Nero isnt a Hyur head on an Elezen body, but a model that uses the Elezen skeleton. Galeans seem to use either the Elezen skeletons or Hyur skeletons depending on the desired proportions. CID I believe is a Hyur skeleton, supported by the fact that he is considered short for a Garlean.

Gosetsu on the other hand is confirmed to be another subrace of Roegadyn by the developers. Granted we know his unique design is to make him stand out more, but it's no more different than what other important NPCs have gotten.

Hilda is really our only main go to for mixed races, as she literally has another races features on her model, in her case Elezen ears.

None of those are half breeds. The first three a seeker children while the last, Khloe, is a Keeper.

Anyway, I don't think we should have mixed race player options. Seems like a lot of work and the lore doesn't really support it anyway.

None of those are half breeds. The first three a seeker children while the last, Khloe, is a Keeper.

Wrong, Seekers dont have Fangs, this one has Seeker Eyes + keeper Fangs and is thus a mix between Moonkeeper and Seeker.

That's not really the same thing as it's not two different races, just two different clans.

The developers have said that certain features that are limited to us, the player, are not necessarily limited to the races and sub races as a whole. F'lhaminn is a Seeker miqo'te, but has Keeper features, which most likely means she has a Keeper ancestor. This is also similar with the clan names. Papalymo and Pipin both have the opposite naming convention for their clans, same for Grynewaht.
