Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

Cool. Your choice. It happens. I stopped playing a lot of games when they ceased to hold my attention. I know I'd love a graphics update, item system overhaul and the rest.. but if they keep releasing story and gameplay I enjoy, I dunno. I'll be around for a while. Come whatever may all the false hopes in the world won't change anything but your own disappointment.


That wouldn't be a tease though. If they outright declared that the NPC was the ONLY instance of that gender in the game, the problem would entirely be with people making up their own incorrect assumptions.

They already said they'll be more transparent from now on, and I expect them to do so with this as well, even though I doubt they will put other genders ONLY as NPC

No.. that was a really bad decision and misleading. Putting in an NPC and declaring that unless otherwise stated male viera would not be playable would be being transparent.

I'm trying to logic at you but every response you give has baseless optimism and assumptions.

Many of you probably have not played the previous Final Fantasy online…. Where they did this very thing. As I said previously, many people asked for male Mithra since launch in NA, I know I did. I sent an email or two and received one basically saying vaguely what we recived now in the current live letter, “We aren’t doing it at this time”. SE will never give a straight out “No” and given from my experience, we will not get anything different from what we have been given so far. At best, they will probably do what they did in XI and just add the race as a NPC.

Many of you are clinging on because they just haven’t said an outright “No”, and more power to ya. I stayed that way the whole time I played XI, all the way up until XIV released and saw the same thing. Granted, they did finally change it with Reborn, I doubt that’s gonna be the same with Viera/Hrothgar (it took the world exploding for that change)

As much as I would like to see the races added (They aren’t missing seeing as they were never planned to be added in the first place) I’m actually fine because I got what I wanted and that was a beast race. Ever since I saw the Lupin, I wanted nothing more than to play as them, and now I sorta get to do that.

I don't trust Square to do anything that makes sense at this point, honestly, all things considered.

They did the good ol' awful "beastly buff feral-looking male, sexy supermodel instagram influencer female" split, they brought back Minfillia of all people, they went and released those controversial outfits, they had Nomura do a ten-minute sketch of a deviantart OC as an important raid NPC, Nier's here for some reason, they replaced Gridania with a rad waterslide, it's like a waterfall of nonsense. But I still hope they'll release male viera, and that's not wrong. There's nothing wrong with being hopeful, even when you're betting on a dark horse. Hell, it's like being a fan of Scuderia Ferrari--they don't win because they have absolutely no idea how to make strategic decisions in spite of having the resources, but that doesn't mean I stop tuning in and hoping that they grew some sense and earned the top step on the podium.

Land sakes alive, I just want a tall, lithe, and elegant PC that doesn't look like an alien. Many people do. Please.

So, to me that sounds like you got what you wanted which is amazing. Also you seem to be using the argument thats been used t0 times before which is ffxi. I remind you that miqote was also gender locked like mithra, and you can't go for 5 minutes without seeing a catboy here. Let's also not forget that that game is extremely old, and players now expect much more different things from videogames

I reeeeally hope so, but considering the choices WE has had recently, I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow managed to make whm even easier
