Theory for becoming a Warrior of Darkness

I imagine it's way simple, you go to the first, the light is threatening to wash the realm, your the warrior or light and cant defeat anything because they are all light aspected and thus you become the warrior of darkness. It's not fancy but it's very simple and easy to write.

That's the "WHY" we become Warrior of Darkness. Not the "HOW"
Not even if the precise moment where we become the Warrior of Light is fuzzy, we understand that gathring crystals and stuff has helped.

Now take the example of Thordan, I don't think you can easily say Thordan was acting for Darkness, willingly at least. He defeated Lahabrea and everything about him and his knights is quite Light aspected. They seem to fight for a cause they deem noble and just. But we overcome them, yet we are Light aspected too. What's that? Greater Light? True Light? We can't tell.

While I agree that it seems easy to write in WoD in ShB, I'm more interested about the consequences of that shift. Our link to Hydealyn, to the Source, to Ascians...

Thordan was a primal which makes him inherently dangerous to the planet since he's continually devouring aether but he was also zealot and a warmonger who would kill his own family if they opposed his tyranny. Further, Light isn't an elemental or aetheric aspect like that where some of his attacks being silvery and shiny = Light based. It is a wholly different spectrum that we don't know the workings of just yet.

The only assertion we have to how Light works is that us being the champion of Hydaelyn has built up Light on the Source.
