Playable kids in FFXIV

I'm not sure if this is a troll-post or a serious thread by someone who actually wants to play a child, but... either way I hope its pretty clear to everyone that there is a huge difference between letting us play Alphinaud for 30 minutes (maximum amount of time you have for the duty) and our PC being a child. Using this duty as argument to let us play children is weak at best, silly at worst.

Besides Alphinaud being 16 years old, so more of a teenager than an actual child. While he certainly does look very young, he doesnt look like a little kid (unlike, for example, Khloe).

People seem to want to keep this conversation alive, but ...for the sake of the twelve, it really needs to disappear into the void and never be mentioned again.

And yes, thank you, Khloe and the other children from the orphanage are great examples of Child characters and is exactly the type of character WE do not want playable; and those who do, should .... probably go play Second Life or something; i don't know, but it ain't never happening. So thank you for pointing this things out Vidu.

But yeah, children shouldn't be playable. I've given my reasons why in various threads asking for them to be playable in some shape or form. RP reasons aside, there's also the whole immersion/lore stuff as well. I find it hard to believe that a child, even with the Echo and Blessing, can handle the nonsense our character goes through (even Fordola questions how we deal with this). Abduction, betrayal, loss, drugged and almost being killed several times in cutscenes. Then there's also how unrealistic/stupid it is to see a child becoming a Captain of a Grand Company and being a master of multiple Jobs.
