I'm fine with having a repair system.
Only thing I don't like is when I tell the repair NPC I want to repair all... just repair all without confirming each piece, please. >.<

+1 dude!!!
Nice spin on the system. Do I see that ever happening. Nope.Originally Posted by Altanas
The repair system should have been implemented as a bonus system: Maintaining an item at 75% to 100% condition would grant a HQ/+1 effect to the stats on the weapon beyond what is there already. Therefore, players would be enticed to keep up the repairs because of the benefit of the +1 effect.
From a broader perspective however, perhaps replacing Item Degradation with Item Enchantment may be a better way to go. Apply 1 Dark Matter to your weapon, it gives a buff that lasts until condition goes to 0%. At 0% the weapon is just a normal weapon (no negatives, would be like the current 100% condition). Reapply another dark matter to get another buff.
It would be more accepting that way to the playerbase if asserted as a positive.
That opens the pathway for a whole slew of crafting opportunities and party opportunities. Dark Matter + Reagent/Oil/etc = Different types of buffs. E.g. applying Oil to a melee's swords will have added effect if the mage in the party casts fire on the mob ^^
all I care about is I don't lose EXP on death.
I think NPC repairs should cost 10x more then they do now and Player repairs cost the same.
but I also think gear ware should be 10x slower then it is now.
