Yeah, let's add NPCs and not actually the other gender in. HAHA. Makes sense right? So he can just listen to people complain 100 times more on why there are the NPCs of the missing gender but still not going to have them be playable. Yeah no. How is that practical? And don't you realise he's talking about mere NPCs?
Because it's crystal clear. For whenever position you put it, it's either for NPCs or a way to say "sorry but won't happen" after they said "we know some people blame but we don't care at all and we decided it together". Just practical.
You clearly didn't read either don't want to understand why they didn't add them. The reasons are listed above, believe what you want at this point.![]()
...all the while said person was posting on one of the races most widely used for ERP, at that (since it was a catgirl before.) Somehow, though, male Viera would be the issue.
The concern trolling levels are reaching hitherto uncharted territories.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
Just a recommendation for the thread: Youre may see some inflammatory "Told you so,"-esque posts that are not discussing the thread or the LL constructively, but rather exist to be abbrasive and slap down other positions they dont agree with. Might be better to not engage with posters in any capacity who aim to do this. If real discussion is the goal, they can say there peace (even if its there to start trouble), but no one has to respond or feed into it. Id just recommend ignoring said posts going forward and just remain on civil discussion. Might get better results, but thats only a suggestion. Derp
I am sure someone with more knowledge of lore will fill in the gaps or even correct me but the Viera from XII are not a female only race. There are males that the party never come into contact with. And considering the fact that we only visit one village in the jungle with Viera I believe it is entirely possible a similar village with only male Viera exists somewhere. Unless we are saying that there is only one Village with only female Viera in that entire world and none other exist or come from anywhere else ever. Which then raises the question of how they procreate.
I thought Miquote were the most ERPed currently, did that change?
No, I did. I very much did. What baffles my mind is that what you think, that in far future they're just going to add in NPCs that will wear only one set of clothing; and that should clear it all up. While his argument is that it costs time and a lot of resources to add in another gender. Due to fact it takes so much resources to have the new model fit into new clothing, animations etc. An NPC doesn't need that work. NPCs can just stand still and say a few lines.
Adding in NPCs is not the issue; they already know how the male would look like - they already have the descriptives. It does not take a year + to make NPCs. It takes a year + to add in a missing gender. Nor would it be worth noting or would stem the desire for male Viera to literally have them be NPCs when people want them to be playable. That's beyond illogical.

More races which I don't intend to play isn't much use to me. I am glad for those who got what they wanted, yet I will continue to respectfully ask for what I would prefer to see, which is male Viera and extended customisation options for existing races/graphics improvements. They are within their rights to ignore me and, if it comes to it, that may mean I eventually withdraw my custom and take it elsewhere, depending on how I feel about the game at that stage. Such is life.Coming from both a legacy player who has followed this game super close since 2010 and someone who really doesn't care about genderlocking at all and would rather see genderlocks if it give us more races, I will still confirm he did say this when discussing male Miquote and female Roe. He claimed it was an antiquated system that no longer served a purpose in mmos. But he gave his reasons on why they were brought back and they make sense. I don't see the issue, personally.
Regarding the reasons he gave, there is no issue with them, in and of themselves, but it definitely does highlight that they're stretching resources too thinly, and possibly not being afforded enough by SE to make the game shine. With the number of botched projects in the game, we're certainly within our rights to question the underlying causal factors behind the reasons presented.
That's what I mean - she was posting as a catgirl up until her most recent post. So the concern about mViera being used to "feed" ERP is rather rich.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
If it would take more than a year to go from greenlighting to well on track, as it was with Hrothgar, it really doesn't matter why we don't have male viera. And there's no point trying to argue. But as long as we keep showing dissatisfaction with the results, there will be impetus for them to change course. It's only a question of whether it is sufficient impetus.
