OP, I had this same sentiment last night an hour before bed.
Out of nowhere my brain got all hyped and I wanted to play through Stormblood again as a refresher but couldnt bring myself to do it knowing New Game+ is coming. So instead I sat there making random characters in the current creator, wishing we had the benchmark lol

I remember the dry spell from HW to SB being just as bad although this one feels worse for some reason. Little content released, little info or updates and people telling you to go play/do something else or do old content like you haven't been playing for the last 4 years. Even the popular Youtubers I follow seem to be having a hard time finding topics for content.

And that's not saying I don't have a life either...I work 9 hours a day, train in Muay Thai, I'm part of a car club, I go see my family on the weekends, I have a GF...But my relaxing time is sitting down and enjoying this game that I've invested a lot of time into. And when there's nothing in the game that sort of excites me anymore, it just kind of leaves this empty feeling. It's hard to explain. lol. There aren't many other games that hold my interest like FFXIV.

On top of that, the benchmark was pushed back. I could see it being released a week before the Live Letter to renew some kind of excitement. I'm honestly surprised SE hasn't put out SOMETHING to keep players excited about the upcoming expansion. We've gotten this far with the Live Letter coming in two weeks but I completely agree with you. This has been brutal.

I'm glad you understand where was I coming from. I'm like you, have a job, a life, etc. I have tons of PS4 games that I have back logged which I'm playing now.

We all know that the Battle Maintenance Live Letter will be at least 3-4 hours, splitting it into 2 parts, several weeks from each other would have been a great way to spread out information.

I know they are on their media tour, one will be coming to Los Angeles soon. The media & streamers that go to that event are not allowed to put out any information until SE tells them to.

Play other games to pass the time. I just got re-introduced to ESO and I've been having a lot of fun playing with a friend. If anyone is currently bored I would definitely suggest giving ESO a look. Warframe isn't bad either, though I tend to play that in spurts.

I would give ESO another shot if it wasn't for the "craglorn graphics bug". That's one of the reasons I switched to FFXIV - Square Enix actually knows how to fix bugs, unlike Zenimax.

Someone brought up a suggestion from one of the twitch streamers, regarding those who have pre-order ShB. The suggestion was to get the bonus of unlocking DANCER & GUNBREAKER several weeks before ShB officially comes out on July 2.

It's called "Early Access" for those who have pre-ordered the expansion, and starts on 28 June. The servers will not be ready for the next expansion before then, so "unlocking" content that isn't in the game already would be difficult.

Don't login for a week or two xD . I would not worry about capping weekly tomes as in 5.0 your probably going to be able to buy all that ilvl400 gear using poetics lol.

I'd rather they release the entire thing at once. Splitting it up is kinda meh especially in the case of things not being finalized or finished so you can sort of get how each of the roles interact with each other and the jobs in each role interact with the new battle system changes instead of only getting half of it and people losing their minds. Of course, it won't be 100% finalized since they are going to tweak all the way up to EA but getting the big picture all at once I think is preferable IMO so they can explain all at once why they are making X changes instead of saying well uh wait 2 weeks, stay tuned. In the end you are going to be waiting until end of June to play anyway.

I dunno I'm already sitting at 2000 Genesis and plan to cap all tomes and both scrips the week before Shadowbringers launches, I probably won't do much in game the week of since I want to save all my challenge log stuff for the Friday it comes out.
