Bite sized chunks to avoid information overload.

Thanks for the explanation. I suppose the best way to mentor people who don't benefit from guides is to stay silent unless there is a wipe so everyone can see mechanics and figure them out mid fight. Answering questions and mentioning one key mechanic per fight would also be alright, but explaining everything makes things worse. Other people who can benefit from guides should be reading them so it's better to focus on helping those who can't by keeping it brief and simple.

It is, pretty much. Better is probably wait until the moment when person actually asks, what do they do wrong, since not all need explanations (some people just need to see mechanic once or twice to understand how does it work). The problem is, though, that not all will ask a question and will wait when somebody will react instead, but that's another story already.

That's fine. Usually if a particular mechanic is confusing the heck outta me I'll speak up and ask for help with that bit. I'll try to figure it out on my own first, but if I can't, then I'll swallow my pride and ask. Usually a lot of the mechanics click with me, but there's that occasional curveball that just confuses me to no end. That's when zeroing in on that would be good. Fun fact, I actually managed to get Seriyu Ex down at last last night. Joined a kill group and one shot it (and if I remember rightly, I didn't die once). Which shows that we CAN do it, we just need a different way to get there, that's all, instead of the usual "Read the guide".

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
