I myself cleared Seiryu EX in a short amount of time through watching videos of EX runs and talking to others on discord during the early days of 4.5.

Clearing Seiryu EX is one thing. Farming it for weapons and the wolf mount consistently is another. The former easier, the latter harder (especially with random pugs no less.)

Unpopular opinion maybe, but I like those long phase-changings. They can by annoying if you want to do "faster-faster-faster" farm, but they were here since HW actually and even ARR had them so... I don't see them remove this aspect, but who knows, we will see soon.

Overall, I like all SB trials. Seiryu is probably my favorite one, I like it's music and mechanics though it hasn't anything new. Suzaku was fun, too. Least favorite is probably Lakshmi, but not because battle is bad or boring, I just don't really like her. x)

    Music was good.
    Difficulty wasn't.

They should add trials back like Thordan ex pre-nerf.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

To each their own, but I hate that fight with passion. Literally the worst EX primal to date for me. The fast (why the f*** do they have to be so fast?) colour explosions combined with poor latency is sure a lot of fun when you are a BLM main. I can imagine DoWs handling the whole thing better though.

They're the midcore content this game sorely needs.

Sure, hardcore folks can do them day one but that content isn't for them.

The long phase changes suck though. (Looking at you Byakko).

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

I really disliked Lakshmi (snoozefest) and enjoyed Susano (also snoozefest, but enjoyable theme/music).
I loved the four lords as a whole, their characters and design choices. The fights weren't difficult at all and I disliked a lot mechanics here.
For HW it was mostly vice versa. I never really got into the Warring Triad and disliked them for some reason, but the fights were very enjoyable and somewhat difficult with interesting mechanics.

I really don't get what the hardcore players are trying to prove in this thread, by coming in this thread saying how SB content was too simple and easy.

I'm with you on this. Even though trials are grinded 'til the end of time, I'll always be okay with the theatrics they throw into a fight. I like the sense of partaking in a performance, not just a mechanical do si do.

Titan EX will forever be infamous. I remember switching from ps3 to ps4 at the time, holy crap I could actually see weight of the land animations!

I unfortunately missed half of the HW primals since I had taken a break from Alex Savage, the last couple I never got to do while relevant; Nidhogg, Zervan and the other primal with the balance scales.. Sophia? Those seemed like they would've been pretty fun, although I can't attest to any difficulty at the time.

By limited comparison, I think SB primals have been some of the easiest overall. I remember it took forever to finally kill and farm Thordan, I haven't had any of those problems perhaps outside of Shinryu, which if I recall still only took one lockout to clear. As far as I can remember, I've been able to clear all SB primals within 1 lockout, which is likely more than I can say for any other primal so far. Certainly I have a better group now and even myself have improved, but still, they just don't make things like they used to.

Outside of difficulty I do think the overall quality of the fights has improved, which should be expected since they've had years and years to make them better. I personally don't like doing trials that much, get a weapon or 2 if I need one and then they're dead content. I get that they're kind of bridge for challenging more difficult content, nothing wrong with that. There's just nothing in it for me personally after I learn the dance and get what I need, I doubt I'm the only one, but maybe SE could look at addressing that aspect of content longevity for the next round of primals.
