Save Hotbar/Gear Sets on MULTIPLE computers

Ive tried to do this and it fails to bring over the hotbars. It does do the shared hotbars but not the regular ones. Can someone test this out on their machine. I feel like either this doesnt work anymore or something is up on my machine.

Not longer needed. There is a backup and restore feature on the character log in screen.

Some people will still find this useful. The backup/restore feature is limited to once per day.



For automatic, real-time settings sharing between two computers, you can copy your character settings folders (FFXIV_CHR################) to a syncked directory (such as in Dropbox) and create a symlink on each computer using the command prompt:

mklink /J "D:\Dropbox\XIV Settings" "C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn"

Then each computer will treat "D:\Dropbox\XIV Settings" as the game settings directory; and any time one of the computers updates the files, your cloud service will sync the files.

This still works. Keep in mind that for "Hotbar 1", there are actually 30-some Hotbar 1s. There is one for each class, one for each job, and one marked Share. If they don't seem to be transferring, it could be a matter of class vs job. All hotbars will transfer over, even if you move the data files to a folder for a character who doesn't have that job or class unlocked. If you want to copy a job bar to a class, it's

/hotbar copy CLASSABRV 1 JOBABRV 1

or from job to class
/hotbar copy JOB 1 CLASS 1
