There are 10 slots for plates right now:
    1: Crafting
    2: Gathering
    3: Striking
    4: Maiming
    5: Scouting
    6: Aiming
    7: Casting
    8: Healing
    9: Tanking

And then one left over as a flex plate for the fashion report.
There should be at least one per Job/class (27, soon 29), preferably one per gear set (40ish?)

One per gear set would make sense. Then expanded automatically every time a gear set is added.

Really it's just that 10 was a laughably small number to leave it at.

Agreed, since most players want unique glamour for each job. I prefer
a more mystical outfit for AST, something regal for WHM, and I like my military outfit for SCH. Speaking of which I hope the new AF gear is more military themed again, the SB set looked more like a librarian; and the HW one was nice, but just felt minorly underwhelming.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
