Depends on what country/part of a country you are in, it could be a holiday.

I think most everyone would agree that Wednesday is the best time to get the painful stuff over with in preparation for the weekend. Isn't Monday painful enough already and any later than Wens too close to the weekend for comfort?!

Easter Sunday isn't observed as a holiday at all in Japan. Easter Monday isn't observed either.
Just because it's observed in some places doesn't mean SE is required to cater to these "some places".

People can find other things to do instead. It's really not the end of the world.

I mean, you can announce you're having a 24 hour down time spanning December 23-24, and you'd probably be considered an absolute moron for doing it then instead of the 16-17th.

Thats pretty much the point of this entire thread. Why in the absolute fuck would you schedule an extended downtime over the ONLY internationally celebrated holiday for that (and other) regions in the first 40% of the year?
