    I don't have the day off work, and I'm American. It's not a national holiday. I don't even know of schools that have today off. Certainly not around here.

    I didn't even know today was a holiday? I mean I went to work today and schools/colleges weren't closed off. When was Earth day a federal or state holiday???

    Depends on what country/part of a country you are in, it could be a holiday.
