We got a cute cat, dragon and now bunny race.
Can we get our cute dog race?

Well I mean even a beast tribe can make an airship.Eh Yoshida was pretty clear on release that the garlean gunblade was completely different from the gunbreaker one, I was under the impression it'd be based more on Cid but I think tying it to Hrothgar is better to give it more distinction. My only confusion is why they seem more tribal/savage yet somehow able enough to make a working gun--blade---hybrid.
Unlike Viera, they don't seem to be mostly isolated race tho. So, some of them might be scholars or engineers, educated in Sharlayan or other city states.
Miqo'te and Au Ra also look tribal, but we know there are Miqo'te and Au Ra scholars.

Yeah, it makes me interested to see what the rest of the culture looks like comparatively, I'm holding out hope that they were somehow subjugated by garleans and forced to regress technologically and the GB quest has something to do with that, though I completely expect it not to and instead focus on GB Ronso on the first shard.Well I mean even a beast tribe can make an airship.

It's not a very deep thought, so it needs more details added, but I was thinking that they found they could use magic to vibrate materials to cut from the mountain. More specifically thinking they found they could vibrate their own claws with magic to cut deeper, perhaps as a near natural response (like real life cats can retract their claws). This lead to finding they could apply vibrations to other items, to mine or better battle (normal sword), but that this was rather draining activity to both physically and magically attune at a single time. From there they learned from others around them that guns could be perfect containment system for the vibration (magic ammo, storing energy for later) and that a sword being a great delivery of the vibrations- like a very long claw that they don't have to worry about if it breaks (don't break your own claws lol).Eh Yoshida was pretty clear on release that the garlean gunblade was completely different from the gunbreaker one, I was under the impression it'd be based more on Cid but I think tying it to Hrothgar is better to give it more distinction. So from some appropriation of nearby technologies and natural talent (sharp claws coming from infusing vibrating magic to it) they made the gunblade. Meaning they're not a race of super advance techno-cats, but still clearly intelligent and adaptable (now they picked up the common-tongue the world has to be-careful of them appropriating quickly and then advancing past them).

In the myth part for them in the 2nd lore book it says she sculpt them outta clay in her likeness kinda of like one of Wonder Woman's origin stories. I'm not sure if it's ever explained how broodmothers give birth to their daughters, but I'm sure whatever magic they use to transmute things into gold might play a part. At any rate they're the only mono gendered race we know of.
