The fate that they're using is Ixion which is funny for those who were around at Stormblood launched when they had instanced zones. Ixion would crash servers. XD
Note to SE: If the last weekend is any indication, there are issues going on with duties/instances when an unsynced full group can take 5 minutes to ready check and 5 minutes to pop a queue into Nidhogg extreme. Or when one of those members disappear from the party list but are in the instance so group heals don't work on them.
Yeah I highly encourage anyone that hunts to participate as well.
With the world visit system, the next thing(s) that will have the most likely chance to cap zone limits and possibly crash servers will be S Ranks (and even A Ranks initially). Even though you might have gotten accustomed to hunts melting right now... upon the initial release of Shadowbringers the new hunts are gonna be sponges for a bit, so ppl might actually have time to world hop and get to them.
I'm hoping that the results either encourage them to add more instances of zones after release OR increase the player limit per zone.

i dont think ill do it since they said for warriors of light .. i am not never will be a warrior of light.
i am A Magi of darkness
Well...
I'm expecting this to fail spectacularly.
Given that the FFXV event already overloaded their instance servers due to a questline with 2 solo duties in it... It was to the point where when I was trying to do some solo unsync'd content the day it came out, I had to wait upwards of a minute to "Reserve an instance"
Now what's going to happen when everyone's trying to cram into the same zone...
Well that's kind of the idea. They want to see how quickly ppl can crash zones though, particularly those coming from other worlds. Also probably track how many ppl show up. What they intend to do with that data afterwards, no clue...Well...

Like I said, two possible outcomes would be they add more zone instances upon ShB launch (they've done 3 instances of each zone initially in HW and SB), but that is bandaid at best. If a Special FATE or S Rank spawn in that instance, that particular instance is still gonna fill and cap just as fast if the player cap stays at 300. There will be more overflow though for players that aren't necessarily trying to get to "the thing" and just trying to do MSQ.
The other possible outcome I speculated would be that they increase the player cap per zone instance, which would be better (IMO!!) since more players could get "to thing" each window. I just don't know how feasible that actually is though.
So they want the players to do free testing for them?
I'll pass.
How do you expect them to do a stress test then? Hiring tens of thousands of people just for that? Or do you want them to do a half-assed test so that you can complain later when the servers do not work? Every game company does it by asking their players' help, as it's the logical thing to do when you want to stress the servers on a live environment.
I hope I can get the rewards for this FATE, because it seems my fate is to never see Ixion. Always offline or away when the dang horse spawns lol.
I wont get too salty () if I can't just because server crashes but I'm hoping the servers can take it, go servers go bear my weight please~
