Viera live for 400 years, I think, so it's not impossible that the Hrothgar have a similarly lengthy life span, if not longer or shorter.

i'm really bummed hrothgar are the ones who invented the gunbreaker :v i was under the impression it originiated in garlemald, and i think it would have been a fun tie in to our later conflict with them again. it could have gave us another garlean defector that could have taught us something we could have used against the empire... job quests could have been skirmishes with small contingents of garlean soldiers bent on getting their tech back, while still learning about the purpose of being a gunbreaker. (ignore me, i'm just story building and who knows what path the job quests will take with hrothgar gunbreaker.)
...but at the same time, i guess they had to give the hrothgar something.

We were told back when the job was revealed that it had nothing to do with Garlean technology.i'm really bummed hrothgar are the ones who invented the gunbreaker :v i was under the impression it originiated in garlemald, and i think it would have been a fun tie in to our later conflict with them again. it could have gave us another garlean defector that could have taught us something we could have used against the empire... job quests could have been skirmishes with small contingents of garlean soldiers bent on getting their tech back, while still learning about the purpose of being a gunbreaker. Eh Yoshida was pretty clear on release that the garlean gunblade was completely different from the gunbreaker one, I was under the impression it'd be based more on Cid but I think tying it to Hrothgar is better to give it more distinction. My only confusion is why they seem more tribal/savage yet somehow able enough to make a working gun--blade---hybrid.i'm really bummed hrothgar are the ones who invented the gunbreaker :v i was under the impression it originiated in garlemald, and i think it would have been a fun tie in to our later conflict with them again. it could have gave us another garlean defector that could have taught us something we could have used against the empire... job quests could have been skirmishes with small contingents of garlean soldiers bent on getting their tech back, while still learning about the purpose of being a gunbreaker. Well, for all we know, Hrothgar might only look savage. Their society could be just as sophisticated as any other. :vEh Yoshida was pretty clear on release that the garlean gunblade was completely different from the gunbreaker one, I was under the impression it'd be based more on Cid but I think tying it to Hrothgar is better to give it more distinction. The fact that Hrothgars are creators of Gunblade is also kind of Easter Egg, since Lion was one of the central figures in FF8 (Squall's last name is Leonhart; his ultimate gunblade named "Lion Heart"; he is Leo by zodiak; his ring, pendant and belt have lion head on it, not to mention Griever - lion looking GF, who is also depicted on Revolver, our first gunblade), and weapon design is noticeably based on this chapter.

I honestly love that they invented gun breaker
Unga in looks but galaxy brains

The lore sounds very similar to miquote and why they were female only in 1.0. Hopefully that means we get both genders soon
