Luminary tools- a real achievement

Yeah, there aren't places to turn in your crafted items for exp, and there aren't places like GC that ask for provisions. Yeah, also guild leves don't exist anymore I guess. The ONLY thing to do for DoL/DoH is to grind these achievements, which most have already completed by ranking up.

SE doesn't know how to give content to crafters/gatherers. And your defense on their ridiculous achievements is duly noted. Nothing more here to see. Just whiteknights defending a horrible achievement system for DoH/DoL.

You don't even have your gather classes to rank 20. You can get all those achievements on the way as you're ranking up. What are you complaining about? I'm rank 45+ on all mine. Shouldn't I be the one complaining about what I've already achieved?

Or are you like pretending to be some sort of high ranking r50er because you think no one will check your profile?

No thanks. Not wasting my time on recrafting 1-30 when I already did it once. Gathering is extremely boring to me. Why don't you go whiteknight and see if you get a forum acheivement?

That or i have finally lost what sanity i have making low end gemstones and ingots.

That was my thought. And it was a way to get people who would not otherwise craft/gather to do it.

If I am making items for the achievement I am not putting them up for sale on my retainer. I am trying to get through stuff as quickly as possible and sell it all to a npc.

Why would you do that, you only get half the xp.

I can live with reduced xp when I'm getting ~300 xp for obsidian arrowheads, especially when my success rate with hasty hand has been fairly high. Sometimes optimal xp for fast grinding isn't max xp.

See, that's what I initially thought.

But the reality is that people are just going to spam the quickest, easiest recipes to get this achievement. If that recipe happens to be something that can be sold in the wards, great, but more likely than not, you're going to pick something that is already abundant and easy to gather/synth for. Something that will get you 20% progress per synth and have very low risk of breaking. And guaranteed they'll pick the lower end of the recipe range because it makes absolutely no sense to make it harder on yourself.

And ApplePie, I don't think Hiir is necessarily whiteknighting. He's just taking it in the butt and dealing with it. I think it's a waste of time because the requirements for 30-50 are ridiculous, but that's his business if he wants to spend time on it. What I think he shouldn't be doing is making blog posts about it in this thread, but again, that's his own damn business - and I'm ignoring it.

There are far worse white knighters in this thread and in this forum for that matter, I think you're attacking someone who is simply choosing to deal with it instead of (validly) complaining about it like you and I are.
