That is just for houses. They had already said last year that apartment sizes were possible and they were considering that among other housing changes.

What I'm referring to wouldn't be changing the size of an existing apartment but rather a player being able to choose a specific size when making the purchase.

I figured the article coming after they had said that was perhaps their way of saying "We looked into it, it's not happening". Hopefully you're right, but I would think if they couldn't change the insides of one, they couldn't change insides of the other either considering the housing innards are instanced. It should just be a matter of calling to load a layout and confining the inside to those limits, I wouldn't think upgrading would be an issue either. It always feels like they're doing something really weird when they're coding these things.

So here I am, banging my head onto the wall trying to get one. I must say, this is by far the worst thing they coud've ever done. I don't know how but SE has managed to turn housing into atma except 100 times more annoying and rage inducing. Spam a placard? Have fun losing your sanity when hours keep passing and the same good old message appears "This plot of land if not yet ready for purchase". You are there the entire morning, the entire afternoon (with a few breaks here and there), stay there until around 1am where you go sleep. Wake up at 3am. Still the same 3 shitters spamming the placard but plot is still not ready. Wake up at 5am again, the same 3 guys still going (yeah, totally legit, like, at this point they don't even half pretend they aren't botting). Wake up at 8am. Plot gone.

Wonderful system. In fact, if I struggle and start thinking about what could've been worse than this, I don't feel like anything could ever top it. It's one thing that at this point it has become pretty blatant SE isn't taking action against anyone using bots, which sucks, but is still not entirely insufferable, but a very different thing is that they handle things like housing in a way only these shitters have a chance at it.

i only agree if the ward only being added after the current ward is full, because in my server the goblet is still empty and if they add more ward right now ill never get any neighbour

Its unlikely the number of wards per housing area will be increased again. After the last increase there are many worlds that have kept housing open since then which means there's more supply than demand on a data center scale; some worlds of course still have shortages, there's no disputing that.

Whats more likely is that housing additions will only come from the new housing areas opened with each expansion. Honestly, a new housing ward will give more houses than just adding new wards so its not really a bad deal. Your best chance for a new house is to wait for 5.1 when the new housing is assumed to be released and either get one in the new area or grab an abandoned plot in an old area. Except for places like balmung, I think there will be plenty of houses for everyone at that point.

I just came back like 4 days ago, I mean, I'm in so need of catching up with gear, primals, etc. I can't afford getting stuck staring at a placard like this for 10 hours. I'm most likely going to give up, as much as I want a house, this placard grind is borderline psychotic.

Yes can relate with the frustration feeling and could not stand that whole time in front of the placard tried for 2 hours and my arm and hand would hurt for hitting the placard all minutes, also could not keep my mind focused to click on the placard all minutes during 2 hours.

If you can't find one plot until 18th April 2019 and if you do not mind shared small plot interior/exterior decor would be yours pvt.

Possibly, se is also thinking of instanced housing, they did say for ishgard housing to be enabled, ishgard needs to be reconstructed kinda like the doman enclave, only this time disciple of hand and land will make the contributions. So the housing district would be in the instanced reconstructed area.

The housing district is more likely to be just a completely separate district that will be introduced after they give enough time for crafters/gatherers to churn through the reconstruction storyline up to a point they deem appropriate. I'll be extremely surprised if they go a different route with it. What I'm really interested to see is if the district will by snowy or not because Yoshida mentioned things thawing a long time ago. I wonder how many people will still want housing there if there's no snow.
