Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

I tend to run my characters around in questionable outfits quite often. Even when I'm playing as my adorable little Lala. I personally have no issues with this at all as I don't consider any of the playable characters to be children. Sure, there may be some more youthful looking options, but even then, I've never equated them to anything else but adults. I'm sure a slender male Viera would hit me the same way.

Now, I am actually a chick in RL. Does it make it less creepy for me to like the slender/less gruff looking models? I could be grossly misreading some people here, but with at least one person in particular it feels like it's simply creepy because it's being posted by and praised by people with male avatars.

My post isn't aimed at those who want slim characters. A character can be slim and still look like a legal adult.

But at those who want the males to look like little boys. Like literal 10 year olds. And the implications of that are unfortunate. Especially when it comes to dressing them in "sexy" outfits.

Lalafells are in the weird place because they don't exactly look like children and are more akin to a chibi style character. But in having that style they do look very child-like. Even their emotes have the cutesy kiddy flair.

There design is ambiguous enough that many modding communities (remember nodding is against the TOS) have banned any adult lalafel mods because of the very issue that they can look like children. Especially to those who might not know what a lalafell is. They can get in trouble for it.

It's a troublesome topic. In a game that has a fully customizable characters like ffxiv there is alot of danger in it being abused. Especially when the modding communities get there hands on things. Just one picture of an adult little boy viera with his dick out could cause a media shitstorm for SE.

I have a strange feeling the male Viera might be just as large as the females, since the males lore kinda makes them sound like hares (which are larger than rabbits, I think?). Female Viera = rabbits, since they live in a community, whereas male Viera = hares, as they live in solitude.

Basing one gender off of one species and another off of another species is.. weird especially since viera culture, males included, appears to be losely based off of rabbit colonies like sunseeker tribes are losely based off of lion prides.
Female rabbits make the dens, they are lead by one dominant female. The males patrol the boundaries of the colony's territory and protect their pregnant female from outside the nest. Male rabbits do pop into the den from time to time, but usually to see if the alpha female wants to get some >1 minute funtimes.

Why would they be smaller than there female companions? Using the excuse "male rabbits are smaller than females in reality" is just as bad as claiming male Viera don't exist in Final Fantasy's lore.

I guess it'd just be a nice change of pace since all max/min height female of other races are shorter than max/min height males. Well, I don't know about lalafell. I'd be fine as long as male and female viera are similar in height, with a height slider option to make the males shorter. I don't want a massive height difference like male and female au ra.

Lalafell is the only race that is equal in height.
So it's
5 races + 1 subrace = 6 unique character model pairs where women are shorter than men
1 race where they are equal
and 0 races where the men are shorter.

Male Viera may exist but aren't they few in number and completely isolated? You're willing to follow reality's true portrayal of male rabbits being smaller than female, yet when it comes to this games accurate representation of male viera you're willing to let it slide?

People are allowed to critique. If you don't like it, then don't respond to them. You're not going to change their opinion, especially if they want male Viera to look a certain way.

Agree, if you're about to comment on the internet then be ready to face criticism. People have the right to voice their opinions whether you like it or not.

Critique and criticism are two different things. Also, throwing those sorts of accusations and implications at people doesn't seem to be allowed on these forums as I've seen mods take down such posts. You can disagree and post your critique, just leave the creepy stuff out of it.
