To be fair "Greg" aka Gilgamesh has been a reality warper since FFV and getting chucked into the void, he can pretty much go wherever he likes "Because he can". If Hildy pop's up on the first it's purely because he bummed a ride on the Gregtrain.

They could appear as NPC's similar to the Padjal's though there's no guarantee there's anything left of them if their primary habitat is not in Norvrandt as I think it's hinted that it's the only area left in the first with the rest already lost to the Sin Eaters and the light.

There's a possibility that it's a time- and space-displaced version of the original tower, though its true origins could still be subject to New Revelations. The actual time frames being fuzzed out are practically irrelevant, since some stuff will have to have happened outside the bubble (before and after!) if it is indeed the same tower.

I'm just wondering if any of it has to do with Salina's True Purpose, or this is all one giant side-trip as far as the Great Allagan Destiny.
I'm fairly convinced the Crystal Tower is in fact not of Allagan design and was in fact just appropated the same way they did with Omega. It's likely the tower is much older than thought to be likely it could be a product of the original sundering of the world into the 13 shards and is likely manifested on ALL of them hence acting as a massive relay to the other shards like an oversized Aetherite.

There was a slide during a presentation at Tokyo FanFest that said the Tower appeared on the First within what looks like a double digit number of years. I doubt it's a universal constant, unless it's some kind of automated response to apocalyptic events.

It could have also been buried on the First the same way it was on the source and noone there knew about it there till it appeared, if it appeared there some years back it could of either an unknown event in Norvrandt or something happening on the Source (Battle of Silvertear happening could have had ripples into the First revealing it for example).

Remember that on the Source, the Crystal Tower sunk into the ground because of the 4th Calamity. As far as we are aware, Calamities are not mirrored on the Shards, and it would take another great quake to make a First CT sink below the ground. The fact that it 'appeared suddenly' and not 'appeared after some disastrous event' screams to me that it literally popped into existence one day, no rising out of the ground, nor anything else. Also as seen in the full trailer footage, it has the exact same type of doors that OUR CT does, which was made by Allagans and is basically DNA locked.

On another note, I listened to the livestream with English commentary again and... when they are talking about the split Koji actually mentions 2 numbers about when it happened. When it is first mentioned when revealing we are going to the First, he translates the time as '12000 years', but when addressing the split again a bit after featuring the Crystarium, he translates the time as being '10200 years'.
When I first heard this when it was live, I thought he was talking about the 1st calamity which is where I got 10000 years since the 1st calamity, but now realise it was the Sundering he was talking about. Obviously one of those numbers was a result of mistranslation due to doing it being on the go, right?

Can someone fluent in japanese listen to what Yoshi-P says in both instances and give us a definite answer pls?
