Idea: Spend venture to Retainer take care of the garden

like i say in the tittle. a monotonous task like this could be done using retainer

balancing could be done at venture cost (as an expensive alternative), or something

I dont like this idea. FC members/tenants can easily click 8 times to water a 4 space garden, and then theres magic brooms for stables which have 3 (?) methods of aquisition. What happens when you stable your chocobo in an apt? Or have indoor plants?

Just seems entirely useless.

isn't just because is boring click many times (is more than 8 click each path, because window option/confirmation screen), but because need water in precise schedules.

1 day without water = disease. in those days that we are going to be absent from the game, could have option of retainer to take care.

And I did not mention FC, but own house.

reinforcing what I said, would be an expensive option for anyone who can not water the garden someday. after all, it has a plant that takes 1 week or more to grow.

Make it a botany venture where the retainer spends one hour fertilizing and tending one garden plot and nothing else? Sure, why not. If people want to waste a venture on something they could easily do themselves in 2 minutes instead of using that venture for something of value, might as well let them.

Of course it will never happen because I doubt SE will be able to set up the programming so a retainer can recognize the existence of a garden plot at a house (or the absence of one).

And that's why I specified tenants as well. Add friend, hey can you water my plants for me? Sure bro. No venture needed.

Doesn't even have to be a tenant to tend the garden. I've tended gardens for friends away on vacation and even random players when I saw their gardens needed water while doing housing tours.

Retainer tending will still never get added. Too much programming effort for something the player should be doing themselves if they want gardening as content.

That'd be a nice addition to the app if you're unable to get to the garden in time. For in-game though I'd like either a 'tend all' option or maybe a special perk added to some of the mounts with aoes that causes them to tend the garden. For example if you use the ray mount's special ability on the garden it causes each little plant area to glow for a brief moment, it just doesn't do anything other than a visual effect right now.

edit: Tested the mount special abilities again and it looks like maybe the effect was taken out. Still think it would be neat to be able to use something that can be earned like the ray mount for a tend all ability.

I've asked friends to tend me jute if I was lucky they were online one day before I knew I was going somewhere but c'mon. You can't make that someone else's responsibility because not everyone has a ton of friends and it's not their job either. Plus, sometimes you don't know if something comes up and just hopping on your phone to send your retainer would be helpful.

Also, those "8 clicks" are taking me 20 minutes to tend the plots at my house and my FC.

You can't make that someone else's responsibility because not everyone has a ton of friends and it's not their job either. Plus, sometimes you don't know if something comes up and just hopping on your phone to send your retainer would be helpful.

If you're going out of town or something and won't be able to tend plants on your own, you can always store them to keep them from going bad.

A tend all option would be great, or a new garden with sprinklers on would be cool and just water plants all the time to keep them alive. For fertilizing though, since it shortens the timer on the individual plant, it shouldn’t be free and should consume a currency.
Imo ventures are useful and sending retainers on ventures is better, but maybe have a gardener npc in each housing district that you pay gil and he takes care of the gardens in that respective ward.

This idea is a good quality of life suggestion, I don’t understand the “no go do it yourself or ask someone” opinions
