    Star Trek Online.
    Champions Online
    Neverwinter [Online]
City of Heroes (dead but ahead of it's time, gear had no appearance, armor was part of your character customization.)
    DC Universe Online

and while at DC Universe Online: in that game, as soon as an item becomes bound to you, it's "glamour" look is now part of your character and you can at any time just change that gear piece to that look. Best Glamour System, period.

Like a year ago or more I tried Skyforge, the game gets boring pretty soon but the character creation was really nice, and there were butts. And muscles. Lol. You have quite a lot of customization options there. And it's a F2P.

Edit: You can even pick the standing pose of your character and the way he runs.

Is ... is this a joke thread?

Are people in this game THAT fine with having such limited options?

Do people mistake SE making it hard AF for you to make a truly ugly character for being "good" CC? Cause I have seen many people claim this game has good CC in the past ...

I could name tons of games with better CC but I'll leave it at one that was released in a comparable time frame in the MMO space.

    GW2.

That's less about the character and more about the itemization. You can't change how ugly those faces are, your heights are fixed, facial hair is fixed to hairstyle (why male characters have like 10 times more options than female characters only having less than a dozen) and sizes are restricted to "sickly", "guido-jacked" and "swole AF". That being said, I do agree with you on the gear customization since it's like the transmog catalog in WoW but useable regardless of location.

I'm actually fairly content with the character creator in XIV. Sure, we could open up more hairstyles that are currently race-locked, but mainly because I know what I prefer to play and don't really stray too much from it.

This depends were you come from. Wearing a helm or mask, a lot of people wont care what their face look like, but everyone cares how their characters clothes look out of the gate, without itemization.

I agree that DCUO in particular has a different set of issues with faces, though. I still like that how their body actually looks dressed up is considered part of their character customization, and not necessary itemization (although they still lock some looks behind acquiring new gear.)

Overall, though, I'm happy with this game's face/body editing. I don't expect much drastic changes to ever be introduced to an MMO, but I also acknowledge there are lots better things out there.

STO is why I don't want FFXIV to give too much optimization. I don't want to see deformed characters running around the world.

Instead of continuous slider, I rather prefer SWTOR's discrete sliders, which should also help with adjusting each gear to every possible option.

Clothes wise DC might be better due to how their system works (not actual styles thats a whole different story) but actually creating your character in that game is very very limited.

Also people complain about the Mog Station in this game, I'd hate to think of how they'd react to DC universe's selling items lol.

Tera Online also has a better looking dragon race, I wish that FFXIVs customization of the Xalea could make them look similar to that.

Just to touch on this point - F2P games have a different business model than subscription games.

*sits back in my rocker on the porch*
Back in my day, all we had to pay in a subscription game was the subscription itself - everything else was included. That has sadly changed. F2P games have to get their cash flow somewhere - enter the cash shop.
