Need? No. You are very much misusing that word. There is very, very little anyone truly needs in a video game.

If you are so blinded by your "ideal plot," that you are willing to trust a complete stranger with that much gil, there is not much to say that's nice. Nothing needs to be changed to remedy that problem; people just need to think more.

The GM is suggesting that we should put a post in the forum. Since they seems like aware of this issue, but they have no ability to stop the scams.

All the trade was happened in game without anything else involved. My friend got the full copy of the conversation.


The scam is still happening, that ppl is still active in the game and try to scam more ppls. As long as they keep that FC, this kind scam will keep going. Not everyone will read and dig the threats.

There's only so much you can do to prevent stupid people from doing stupid things. Sure, a sanctioned way to trade houses would be nice, but what's to say these scammers would not just ignore it and continue to scam anyway? If it's the "best plot in the game", not many players would be willing to part with it and there would be no offers on the MB. Would your friend have been able to smell the fish with someone selling the house outside of MB? I suspect not.

So the first problem here is that it wasn't you who got scammed, its like how SE will ignore a report if it didn't happen to you specifically. There is also not a lot that can be done here on the forums. Those 10 people should report the individual and move on. Like with real life scams, all you can do is report the fraud and move on with your life putting measures in place to protect yourself in future. Sometimes you get lucky and the scam is reversed, and sometimes you are unlucky.

Houses were never meant to be sold for 3x+ the amount the person bought it for and I'm pretty sure it's against the rules. If you fall for scams like this or pay this much money for a house, people have themselves to blame.

I disagree with having houses being sold on the market board as making profit out of them is not their purpose.

I wouldn't mind it if there was a single board that listed empty plots you could buy from instead of having to go to the plot.

But selling plots to other players directly is against the terms of service, and is the reason why they added the random timer whenever someone vacates a plot. To the best of my knowledge, buying FCs to get around this is also against the rules.

The scam is deplorable, but at the same time buying the houses is against the rules. I'd suggest your friend report the scammer, but any in game evidence that you agreed to do this could just get the scammer and your friend in trouble, so I'm not sure there's any recourse for it.

Unfortunately there isn't really any way I can think of to stop people from selling FCs with plots because if you just lock a FC with a plot to its current owner that means FCs where the header quits the game or something are just stuck in a bad spot with them unable to pass leader on in legit circumstances.
