    What if Full Counter only applied to Auto-attacks, removed the potency increase, the counter has the same potency as the initial attack, and is no different from Bulwark in terms of damage mitigated (Heck, it could be a straight Bulwark upgrade via Trait that allows blocks to reflect auto-attack damage while active, thus not adding an additional button)?

    Would that be more workable?

    Some way to spend Oath Gauge *OFFENSIVELY*.

    A nice high damage attack. Not that I have Warrior envy, but when I hop on Warrior, hit Berserk / Inner Release and then proceed to unload 3 auto-crit Fell Cleaves, my inner Paladin just cries.
    This could work very well with stance dancing, so that we could Req -> HS spam, fill the bar, then switch to tank and unleash some heavy attacks. Would work well as a dps window.

    An AoE attack that doesn't suck. I like adding damage to Flash - maybe increase the radius a bit to 10yalms while we're at it. 15 would rock, but probably not realistic.
    Total Eclipse is such a small AoE radius, and the potency is weak.

    I think they need to rework the aggro combos for...well all tanks really. They need to do away with the concept high threat generation combos completely and instead convert one combo into a high damage but lower resource generator and the other combo a lower damage but higher resource generator and then beef up the snap aggro skills (flash, shield lob, etc) and have every offensive tank skill generate at like 1.5x threat to keep ahead of the bigger DPS numbers.

    Along with this, they need to reword the Oath Gauge as noted above. I think something similar to the warrior gauge would work pretty well. Have Holy Spirit run off of the Oath Gauge, and rework Requiescat so that Holy Spirit is free cost along with the damage boost for its duration. There are obviously other reworks that would have to happen as well, like dealing with the cost of Shelltron as well as probably straight up remove stance based oath gauge generation.

    As for new skills, yes shield charge needs to happen and will be really surprised if it does not. I'd rather not see much more in the utility department as I think the job has it already well covered so I don't know what else new skill wise is needed. Maybe just a high powered, long cool down oGCD attack from the FFTactics Holy Knight kit e.g. Divine Ruination.

    I'd rather not have gauge have an offensive use, or at the very least, offensive and defensive uses shouldn't come from the same gauge.

    I could see two gauges, sword and shield, side by side.

    Hit things with your sword to build sword gauge, use your shield defensively to build shield gauge. Sw-gauge gets spent on offensive uses, Sh-gauge spent defending yourself and the party.

    Eh? We already have a VERY big offensive use on our gauge! Sheltron gives you 920-ish MP on block which fuels a holy spirit. Blocks give you Shield Swipes.

    If done right, you can use 2 holy spirits and skip a Royal Authority combo.

    There, Offensive uses!

    Adding an action that is solely "offensive" on your gauge is a very bad idea, just look at your WAR brethren that NEVER use Inner Beast because Fell Cleave. Let's not have PLD suffer the same offense vs defense syndrome.

    I agree about keeping offensive skills off Oath gauge due to the take away effect it has on Sheltron/Intervention.

    But at the same time I'd like to see SpiritsWithin without the HP component but instead mechanically more integrated to the kit by some other means. (Want the same for Salted Earth and DP on DRK). Recast only constraint ogcd attacks is becoming a 3.x/2.x legacy thing I feel

    Also its a nitpick but I don't like single target oath growth so associated to Holy Spirit.. Its not a flaw, but wish they can get fast Oath through another means. Painful at lvl60

    I'd rather not too many new actions but instead buff the PLD's current actions.

    A huge one I'd love to see is Total Eclipse. I love the move for it's damage but it does need a type of aggro control effect or maybe it adds on to the oath gauge for a brand new aoe attack skill.

    If that doesn't work then I'd love to see Flash get a change to some form of holy magic spell (maybe have a bunch of crystals spread when it's used) to not only get aggro but also to do damage. It could use oath gauge as well as a PLD will refill that extremely quickly during big pulls.

    The final option I'd love if both of those fall through is to have an Abyssal Drain style aoe for Shield Lob. Maybe use an action to change the elements of certain attacks into holy versions and give it something like that.

    AOE mob control is one of Paladin's biggest issues and I think changes like that would enhance the experience. I'm okay with no gap closer, and managing that aggro control on single targets can be handled properly (with some cooperation) but the mob aoe is an issue I'd love to see fixed especially if more Eureka style content comes in the next expac.
