I once ran a Snowcloak run with a Pally tank, Sch and blm, me as a Ninjur.

Tank would sometimes lose one or two mobs to the blm, he was double pulling. BLM had a Ultimate Legend title, told Pally tank to try harder, please.

A very definite please was in that.

Tank lost another one in another group, blm then joked maybe he should just tank.

So tank pulled 2 more packs, and at the right time, I smoke Screened the Tank, blm took all the aggro, instant death.

Uber BLM screamed at me asking me why I did that.

I responded: Well you said you should tank right? And your Mr. Ultimate Legend, you got big balls right? What? Not happy?

I had a laugh, the Tank had a laugh, the healer had a laugh, the BLM had a laugh, and called me some expletives a few of which must be new. /think maybe he was young. Then the BLM left.

Tank said Arigatou, whm tittered, new dps came in asked hey whats going on guys! I got 3 comms. Tank and healer obvious, dps apparently accredited me on him getting a short run.

Ah....fun stuff.

Joined a levelling roulette on my 67 RDM. We got the Vault. PLD tank, AST healer, SAM dps.

I guess of the fault was mine for seeing that the AST, synced at 58 with the rest of us... only had 3.7k health. Well, on the first pull of trash mobs, the PLD dies, while the healer just stood there. After we all died, she said;

"Can you guys kick me? I forgot to get my gear repaired after it broke."

To cut to the chase, the AST left, the PLD also left, then we got replacements in the form of a WHM and another PLD, and the run went fairly smoothly, even with the RDM not watching where they were displacing to and pulling the next pack of mobs by accident...

..cough. Anyway, I found it a bit ironic that I have all DoL/DoH at 70, and I couldn't fix the AST's gear...

I always found that weird, you can request materia melding/overmelding from other players, but not gear repairs.

Awhile ago i was doing alliance raid roulette and got world of darkness. Immediately on the first pull of trash i ended up dying. No tank was doing their job (Like usual in alliance raids). And i said in party chat "Tank? Do your job?"

And then i was met with snarky responses like "Diversion, use it." Okay sure, i can use diversion but that's no excuse for 3 tanks to not be in tank stance and not doing their jobs.

Then on the first boss i ended up dying to doom and i said to the healer "Esuna?"

And yes i know i was wrong now, you can't esuna it off you have to stand on the platform. But it had been awhile since i had done that fight, so i screwed up and was at fault.

But then i was met with snarky remarks again like "You have level 70 healers and you don't know what can and can't be esuna'd off?"

Afterwards i ended up getting kicked.

Not going to lie it pissed me off. Sure i was wrong about the Esuna thing, but you don't have to come off like a total jerk about it.

To be honest i think i was grouped up with a group of friends. Because they were quite toxic and all jumped on me together.

I'm far from perfect and make a lot of mistakes. But there really is no reason to group on someone and berate them.

Overall the community is good for the most part. I don't have tons of bad experiences like that, but i do have a few. I posted one earlier about a stubborn healer who wouldn't dps.

If i can remember another one i will post again with another bad experience, or maybe a future experience waiting to happen.

To be fair, it's still possible to come across players during Deathgaze (Dun Scaith) or Exdeath (Delta v.4) that fail to Esuna the Doom off their allies in time, resulting in a number of deaths. So it goes to show at any level mistakes can happen, we are only human after all. Though whether they are intentional mistakes or not is a completely different matter (e.g. those healers that continue to DPS instead of casting Esuna and/or healing in a pinch...).

Yeah, more accurately they request a meld, you do the animation. You can even charge a fee similar to npc melders.

Takes forever to do overmelds that way though, so if your crafter friend offers to meld your stuff, don't bind it so you can trade them and let them speedrun it.

Not to nitpick, but you might be remembering the dungeon wrong. Snowcloak is a level 50 synced dungeon and NIN doesn't learn smokescreen til 52.

I would have given you a laugh though if I was in that run, would have been amusing considering the BLM's wording.

They did in 1.0 but got rid of it in 2.0 release cant remember why
