Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

I like gender locked races and I hope they stay this way. I'd like it if the Hrothgar adopted the FFXI lore that Galka had and be an asexual, reincarnating based race, because that was just such a cool concept for me at the time. Although I believe the lore for them is already out and it is nothing like this, but at least I could dream.

Good luck in your crusade, vocal minority(i have no way of proving this), I hope you force the devs to do something frivolous instead of improve the game as a whole.

Female Ronso/Hrothgar are already shown in the x games. There is no point in genderlocking them.

The reason I made this thread is to ask for those that believe in female Ronso/Hrothgar as a playable race. I believe that both gender locks should equally be removed.

I call this assertion into question. The Ronso we see are Spirian, which could, and probably are, taxanomically different then the Hrothgar from The Source. I mean, did you ever see a Spiran Ronso with a wolf's head before?

Like I said on the first page, they are called Ronso in the First but that doesn't dictate anything about their lore or race or history.

They could legit build the lore around this brand new made up race having only 1 gender and not have to answer to any backlash on that front so I do hope people stop bringing up female Ronso as a reason they should be in.

Cause if they do pull that angle (Cause, again, they made the Hrothgar and Viera under the assumption that this is it ... no more new toon bodies) you're gonna end up like the Viera male people going "Bu-bu-but ... In my head canon!".

I would say its possible but my doubts to that are yes the name on the 1st is the same name used in ffx, but more so the devs tried their best and showcased how close they can make Hrothgar look like Kimarhi, the devs themselves want us to associate Hrothgar with ffx Ronso and ffx Ronso had females aplenty and i think this is why most people would have an issue if they try to use lore to say they are mono gendered

you know male is still a gender right? having a gender neutral race that just happens to be male in every way seems kind of dumb. and i used to play galka before you say anything.

Even if hrothgar end up having more faces that aren't exclusively feline, I want the female hrothgar to have the same options! If they make them different animal-species I'm afraid they'd fall heavily into dimorphism for the body types.

Not saying your point is wrong, but if they didnt create Vieras in first place, female Hrothgar would exist.

Not saying your point is invalid. They are free to change the lore however they please. But we can atleast agree on that lore is indeed flexible.

I hope Fem. Hrothgar will happen, to bad it will take ages.

Because some might not want the other race thus might not show their support if its for both. Also its like two big threads, that should not be too much for the devs to look through and it divides the information a bit so they can directly see how people might want Viera and how people might want Hrothgar.

(And its not like we have thread limit on this forum either)

I feel like more people care about the male viera more than the female hrothgar just based on how many times this gets pushed back compared to the always active male viera threads lol.

Well Viera (including the males) are something that people wanted for a loooong time and the fanfest reveals before JP gave us the Viera first so more people are probably a bit angry or annoyed that there is no male there. (I also believe that generally more people will play as the Viera than the Hrothgar) But still we are over 1k likes even for the beastial race, which is huge.

Also in this thread we have less pictures and also less arguments about how they should look. (The other thread already have quite a few posts on how the OP should look). As long as this thread still stays on the first page, it should be enough.

They did that to show how powerful the customization is.
Of course they draw parallels between them and Ronso ... but again, they are not called Ronso for a reason. Any lore this Male only race is revealed to have is completely it's own thing.

I want to show my support to Male Viera and Female Hrotgar. I was very disappointed to see this decission and while I can understand that doing the counterpart will be costy, genderlock is not inclusive and I don't want that in nowadays gaming industry. I do not support genderlock in FFXIV. I will never be okay with that.

I was really happy to hear that Yoshida was firmly against genderlocking in 2.0 and this with the fact of no racelocking (which is the main reason I didn't play others MMo's with that restriction) were the reason I started to play in FFXIV. I love this game, I really do. I wouldn't be commenting in the forum otherwise. I read and know a lot of people that dreamed to play as a Male Viera for so long. I also know some girls that wanted a female and beasty race. I think that Eorzea is an amazing world because you can be whatever you want and express yourself in many ways. So please, Square Enix, let FFXIV to continue that way.
