I also wished that they would use the clans more. Instead of just making them a different color, make them a bit different. Let one clan be more built like Ronsos from other games and the other be as buff as the Hrothgar males.

2 threads are okay for the sense of how the request varies If they do it they cant do one without the other at this point.
it will take awhile but support keeps happening and request keep occurring it'll happen before you know it.

One thing I noticed in both threads and want to point out. I've seen multiple posts that start out "I made an account so I could post in this thread." And they have all been in support of the gender unlocking. So it is important enough that folks are creating accounts on the main forums to voice their opinions, something nothing else had pushed them to do. They felt the genderlock was important enough they had to make sure those in charge of the game would see them on the official forums. We all believe the creators at least browse say reddit to get a feel for what their players are thinking and feeling. But all of those 'I created an account to voice my thought on genderlock here' thought that wasnt enough and came here.

I think that says something too.

And on a personal level, the more I think about it, the more I want a female Hrothgar.

As far as real life goes, traditional gender roles are what works best. There is no rational argument against that. Japan understands that. America used to.

But as far as fiction? We don't know anything about the Hrothgar yet. Just because we saw female Ronso in FINAL FANTASY X-2 (I personally don't remember any in FINAL FANTASY X) doesn't mean we can or should get playable female Hrothgar in FINAL FANTASY XIV, an entirely separate game. And when it comes to fiction, worldbuilding matters a great deal more than real life politics. Perhaps this culture has no women, like the Galka in FINAL FANTASY XI and reproduces in some other, non-sexual way. Perhaps their genetics cause females to be born as other races and males as Hrothgar, allowing them to have wives of any Spoken race. Perhaps female Hrothgar eschew adventuring in favor of being housewives. We don't know.

And that's the point. How the Hrothgar fit into the game's lore is far, far more important than being able to play as a female one.

To say that the genderlock on the Hrothgar and Viera is "homophobic," "disrespectful of the LGBT community," or anything else to that effect is absolute freaking nonsense and must not ever be taken seriously, especially because people these days are offended just as easily by leaves falling off the trees in autumn.

I support fairness and find that Yoshi's explanation about why they chose to fall back to 1.0 basics to be troubling. It is my hope, that one day we can get the missing genders for both races, possibility in a future patch like when they introduced NIN and BLU? We just have to remain positive and no fall to toxic behavior.

That aside, I am also a little saddened at the seeming lack of FemHro art and would be delighted if anyone could share some here. Thank you.

While that may be true, Hrothgals still appear to have a strong following. It's still important to show support either way.
