Yoshida himself described them as slim, elegant and handsome. Which doesn't mean that they will not have muscles at all, of course, but it seems like at least Yoshi think about them like about wood elves, kind of? So there is low chance that they could be bulky (as Roe or Highlander, for example), more like something between Miqo'te athleticism and Elezen slimness, imo.

That's quite interesting. I honestly wish there were more exciting things going on in my server. The most I've encountered is this one dancing Miqo'te who's permanently parked in Limsa. It confuses me. I also see couples here and there hugging and stuff. Sometimes I'd get cat girls trying to interact with my dude, but that's about it.Adamantoise must be a bastion free of sin bc the amount of ERP I have witnessed out in the open is quite staggering. I remember this one time I was just wandering randomly through the shroud and I encountered the most raunchiest of ERPs between a cat boy and a daddy roedegan.
But to frank all races, and I do mean all races, participate in ERP. Even if male viera becomes the twinkiest of the twinks will that change.
You're right though. ERP isn't restricted to one race. And like another has said, you can bet it'll happen with the current upcoming two races, genderlock or no.
But back to the topic, Senn mentioned a similar discussion regarding body types in the JP forums. I wonder what the majority of them would prefer. I just want them in the game at this point lol.

I think Roe would be pushing it, and as I mentioned before, that particular niche just got backup in the form of Hroths. I know Matsuno, albeit probably jokingly, presented Highlanders as a model, so I wouldn't rule it out, especially since they were quite built in That Concept Art™.
Now the question is how will they do the split. Because it's easy to imagine this following separation:
Roes and Hroths are the big, beefcake daddys.
Au Ra and Highlanders, while in different height groups (or at least have a noticeable gap between them), are more on the built side. This is more obvious for Highlanders than for Au Ra because Au Ra are taller and have more of an hourglass figure, but they can be quite built.
Midlanders and Miqo'te are the shorter, ranging between smooth and weakly, to lean mean short killing machines - but still more so in muscle tone than muscle mass.
This leaves male Viera to be matched up with male Elezen. But I do still hope they'll pump them up a bit compared to male Elezen, and add some differences in build to better accent the fact these are two different races.

I would say they are more interested in slim and elegant look, but can't say the exact rate. Some people intrested in 9s/Alphinaud body type, and there where buffed/not buffed discussion actually begins. There are people who are against of Shota kind race (I can inderstand them) and they point out that while Lalafels have irrealistic proportions so it's fine, having actual "child model" is no-no from ethic side (and this I can understand too). Though I'm not fluent at all, so can to misunderstand a lot of things in their messages.
Well I like the OP post. Not that big anymore and maybe a bit more neutral.
Which races to really fit those statements? I mean yes its true in the glamour department (which could be a bit more masculine in some cases) but for races? Lalas and maybe a short male kitten are the only ones that might fit into that. Every other race is either large and/or muscular. And on top of that we are also getting the Hrothgar which are large and really beefy. I am quite curious which race you would count into the slim or even androgynous category.

I'd like to point out something though and I'll be posting it here because the other thread is getting burned.
While I understand the enthusiasm of the players who want mViera, even I do think its not needed to create multiple threads over and over again. Its just getting ridiculous and you are feeding people that love to abuse their chance to leave a "hate" comment.
Why did Hrothgar happen? Cause they made a big uproar? No not at all, they happened because small number of players wished for a different race that wouldnt be "humanoid" like. They didnt come to the OF and spread anything, they just waited patiently.
And I do ask the same of you, just wait. These decisions cant be fallen just in a moment. Let the devs/YoshiP take their time and decide if the resources will actually be worth to create the opposing genders. Do not wait for it to happen, you are just hurting yourself.
After all, if resources were short we wouldnt have mHrothgar/fViera and the expansion still looks promising (content wise).

Pretty much this. We have two big threads, that's more than enough.

Meh, this thread is about this thread. the other thread is about the other thread.
And the fact that genderlocking in itself is seen as a inappropriate solution could be seen as its own conversation. Regardless of the excluded gender, genderlocking can have some unintended side effects that hit upon more than just character creation.

That might be the case but this thread doesnt benefit only from the pro Viera players, but players that dislike the genderlocks and/or support fHrothgar. I do think there is no need to heat up these endless discussions. Beside people that oppose the idea or seek discussion end up in here anyway.Meh, this thread is about this thread. the other thread is about the other thread.
