I'd bank on Aiming, there's a chance it could be scouting.

There's also been a handful of statements Yoshi has made that could be interpreted as suggesting that Scouting Gear will be folded into Aiming gear, but that could just be me reading into things.

The amount of people assuming aiming boggles my mind. It would be foolish to have one armor set serve 3 jobs, and one serve 1, when they could do 2/2 (also I think the scouting aesthetic fits DNC better).

But to answer the OP matter-of-factly, we don't know. I think the person that said "They'll probably give you a set of left-side gear" is likely correct, so I would just buy accessories.

I get this impression as well, however I think it's likely that any changes will only apply to new gear (Lv71+).

Also, there's already been a lengthy discussion on the topic. It hasn't even fallen off the front page of this subforum, sigh. We didn't need a whole new topic.

To be fair, barring any new set introduced or a consolidation of existing sets, Dancer's weapon will be throwing weapons, hence fitting aiming better than scouting, aesthetics aside.
