honestly, i did think about it a lot recently, and i'm curious to see where it go myself.
all in all, we know that the big enemy is zordiark and at some point we will need the power to beat it. hyadelin was not able to beat it alone.... that did lead to the creation of the 14 shard. we know that 7 of them have already collapse in the source world, since every calamity is tie to a collapse of a shard.... or i did get it wrong.

we know that the first shard is about to collapse because of the balance issue with the light.
while the last fanfest they did mention that we will need to find back the element that the first shard did lost.... but do it solve all trouble? even if we bring back element and darkness into the first shard... ascien will still continue to try to fuse the first shard and hyadelin.

what can be the solution to that... strangely recently i have begin to think that maybe we need to fuse back every shard with the source world... for give back to hyadelin her whole power. and in a sense it maybe that, we will not loose nor win... maybe we need to bring the first shard in the source world... but not like the ascien do it... maybe in another way. because when the expansion will be over, we will still need to get access to the first shard territory. exept if they means to maintain the shard access open... it will be weird...

exept if my second theory is...we need to create balance in every shard and gather power of every shard before go meet zordiark and face while his power is confined into one shard and we have get access to the power of all the shard and source world?
what is crazy... because it means we will need to go into every shard for get the power of every shard for beat zordiark.

A complete rejoining would end all life on Hydaelyn. That much has been established for a long time, and was outright stated by "Varis" in 4.5.
