So what I'm getting from the latest interviews, is that Yoshida and FFXIV devs truly do not understand what we want and that genderlocking is an actual problem, and stereotypes are a problem... They're not doing this on purpose they're really just that narrow-minded. And here I thought they might have learned something over the years.. Oof.

Although I agree the move is narrow-minded and sexist, calling them out on it aggressively isn't going to fix anything. We have to be respectful about it, expose our point of view and insist on having them see why this was NOT a right move. We can do this, I'm sure.

There is nothing sexist about this. Nothing at all. I would agree that they are at times narrow minded, but not in this instance. Time constraints was the reason that was given. That neither confirms their development or rules them out. Was is truly narrow mindedness? No one really knows. But they never said "we don't want to do this because reasons", they said that they ran out of time. Regardless, nothing about this is sexist. The word is being thrown around so freely that it sickens me. Apparently no one knows what it truly means around here. All of that said, I still think that there should be male Viera and female Hrothgar. And they very well could happen.

I could make a million excuses on why I didn't do something and it would still not be a reason. "Running out of time" is hardly an excuse nowadays, too.

And hey, not saying they're sexist but that the move in itself is. Not considering people wanting to play the other gender can be misunderstood as such, even if you call "time" or "lore" as the factors to outright dismiss it, which are weak arguments to begin with (even more when they ran into that problem in 1.0 with Roegadyns, Highlanders and Mi'qotes, having players expressing their opinions once more).
