Yeah I don't really get it. Tedious & time consuming generally doesn't necessarily equate to fun. I have played this game quite a bit, and I had high hopes for 2.0 to really move the bar from where we are, and it may just do that. I am just concerned due to "recent" design decisions that have been made with the existing version that lead me to believe that the developer is saying "we've changed" but demonstrating "we haven't changed much"

Yeah, sometimes Yoshida's crew seems to completely forget why we asked for changes to the game. Eliminate stress, eliminate tedium (but don't give the rewards to us on a silver platter). However, Yoshida did make a dev post saying that they're going to fix the retarded requirements for the moogle fight, so cool your jets.

Exactly. It essentially means the power that be came together and said:

"Yep. This is brilliant. Excellent design choice. Please move this into the production environment."

You would expect that these design choices would never have even made the jump from concept to paper, much less paper to implementation - and there are a lot of those ? decisions being made across the last several patches.
