Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

My two cents, if I may:

We know that the male Viera are rarely ever seen in public and you are being true to lore by not allowing players to play them, but you've actually written yourself an out! Allow me to explain.

- We know that male Viera do not come out in public and are really only around to mate.
- We know that the Viera are typically an all-female society, so most of the time males are not welcome.
- We also know that Viera were modeled after Amazonian women, who shunned males.

... At least, where we are now. But we're going to the First, aren't we? Where things developed differently.

My thought is that, what if Viera society is different on the First? What if males are not only welcome in Viera society, but protected? What if hearing about this sort of thing on the First prompted males of the Viera in our home world to finally come into the light? Wouldn't that be a really cool story arc for the race? That would also allow you to unlock the gender lock.

Now, if Viera women are like Amazonian women, what would male Viera be like? My vote is for some reverse sexual dimorphism, which would mean that the males are smaller than the females. Maybe not by a lot, but I feel it would make sense, right? From an evolution standpoint, if the males are smaller it's easier for them to hide away and not be found.

Just my thoughts! Please consider adding them to the game as a playable race!

sry, but this is not very much considering how many active players there are in FFXIV x:

Ultimately the problem with developing a new race is not necessarily the rigging or designing the models, but adjusting all of the existing gear and all gear added in the future for the new body types. It’s why most body types that exist are relatively similar to eachother, and why Hrothgar look like lion heads pasted onto roe bodies: It minimizes the work to adapt them to the game’s existing assets.

So if we ever do get viera, the odds of them getting a custom skeleton or body type beyond their heads are extremely low. If they go for “tall” proportions they’ll most likely share assets with the elezen or au ra; if they go for “small” they’ll be more like miqo’te or midlander hyur.

I do not believe that there should be gender locking in the game, I would like to see a Male Viera added to the game, either at launch or as soon as they can after launch.

I agree with this, and nothing wrong with them being shorter/smaller, but the second picture looks borderline jailbait and imho that's not ok.
PS: I didn't like it when they did the Au Ra like that, either. Why do it again? Extreme sexual dimorphism is kinda tacky at best and gross at worst.

A thousand times this. If you want something like a Viera, you'll be essentially sticking bunny ears on either a male elezen or au ra.
Not saying there's anything wrong with that, but stop with the 'cut wittle bun bois' crap, please.

I honestly thought the two images where they're cute and small were the 'child' concepts to highlight the fact you can't tell the difference between the two of them until puberty hits. They honestly look like children to me - more so than a lalafel, how is that even possible.

You want a game where anyone can be anything they want to be? Then do it. Just like you did with the Cats and the Buff Pirates.

Been playing and paying for this game, since my account started, and for the first time I feel like you're doing things that are easy, over things that are good.
