Agreed - I'd love something along these lines. To add my 2 cents, here's some other ideas I like, too.

Let be honest here.

"We will first look at feedbacks" is the business way of saying they wont. They already have the feedback about male Viera for what... years now ? Viera as a race was already a thing before heavensward. I wont believe a professonal team of game designer from a company like Square Enix haven't already took the time to take it into consideration.

There can be a disconnect between senior management and the dev teams, at times. So let's wait and see rather than assuming they will just ignore it and that it's a done deal. For the time being, I'd suggest contributing your feedback in the threads linked in my sig.

I did like that he didn't want to say anything either way because if the problem is time and budget constraints, that's a higher-up decision and might really be why we didn't get more right now. I do, based on past interviews, lay at least some of the blame on male Viera never being an option on Yoshida himself, but maybe with this much outcry, that would change too.

There aren't nearly as many people asking for different panty options as there are people asking for the genderlock to be removed though. :v Strength in numbers and all that.

Or extremely loud vocal minority which in this case pretty sure that's what it is. I don't know anyone outside of this forum that is upset at all.

I just find it odd that when Yoshi P took over he said that he didn't like gender locked races and that SE had 'learned from the mistakes of 1.0' but fast forward to today and suddenly things change 'because of cost' apparently. He claims lore, but there are already so many lore-breaking things in FFXIV that it doesn't make any sense to even try to use this as an excuse... when clearly it's about time and money.

However, speaking of money, people that are paying for a subscription- which are essentially paying SE to produce content, have every right to make their voices heard. Personally, I do not believe in 'gender locked' races, as most people want options and to be able to choose the gender and race of their character. For some people, their character is THEM in the game, which makes race and appearance extremely important and can be game-breaking for them. Many people aren't simply about 'dungeons, trials, end-game', they want to enjoy RP and put themselves into the game and story... and they should be able to since they also are paying for SE to produce content.

Vocal minorities have gotten stuff done before in this game. They got the 1.0 genderlocks removed, same sex marriage, the male bunny suit, and extra shirogane wards added. Maybe these people desperate for extra panty variations should be louder about it I guess? Or maybe they're just an even smaller minority than the group who want the genderlocks removed. lol

Theres 14 Million subs in FF XIV right now... and maybe 500 or so people on the forums asking for a genderlock removal Could be miscounting but most of the posts seem to be well mostly the same people. I am not understanding where you're getting the idea thats a strong call to take development and pool towards.

He said back in 2013 that he didn't like the idea of male viera, and that they would likely add a male-only race to offset it if they were to be added. It's hypocritical, but we've known his stance.
