Hello! Gender-locking is lame and archaic, as well as nonsensical in this case; think back to the time when a gender-lock was previously attempted and how poorly it'd gone before. Gender-locks are non-inclusive, and this move was a complete disappointment to the community. Female Hrothgar would be a step in the right direction for XIV, and gaming in general, with the only other real representation of this kind being the Charr, as many others have stated. ( Not to mention the obvious knowledge that female Ronso already exist anyway, in their respective canons )

That being said, when this was first announced, I created a petition, which can be viewed / signed here, for further feedback purposes, if anyone wishes to look, though it's received a fair amount of malice and trolling, its been a means to unify those opposed to this sort of thing: https://www.change.org/p/square-enix...cking-in-ffxiv

I would be more inclined to play a leaner female Hrothgar than the current design of the males. I'd love to see female Hrothgar added in any capacity however! As a male Viera supporter, I also give my support to female Hrothgar!

I would actually either fantasia an existing alt, or create a new one for a female Ronso.

Gender locks are in some ways worse than no race at all. You can see what you could be, but aren't allowed.

FFX has always been my absolute favorite FF game, and it seems so weird to me that they would even use the name Ronso for them on the First while then gender-locking what was clearly a fairly evenly split gender race in FFX. I love being tall buff monstery ladies in mmos so I know if female Hrothgar were a thing I would make a permanent switch (or at least pour a ton of love into an alt) in a heartbeat! :O

This is why people would've accepted "sorry no viera/ronso yet" for shadow bringers if they actually finished one whole race. "We needed a beast race real bad guys, it was super important to add them, but no girls allowed" SUCKS.
