I strongly feel that people need to take a step back and think over what the word disappointed means. A lot of people that are currently disappointed are getting attacked for being toxic because they are being wrapped up with the group of people that are making threats and demands (the real toxicity).

People should be able to feel disappointed. It's a natural human emotion. Expressing that they really wish SE did not go the job path they did that left an entire branch of players in a lull while others get shiny new toys is perfectly respectable. I hold nothing against them and I hope they at least wait to see the revamped mechanics live letter in may since they already said healing is getting a major overhaul.

Honestly when it comes to the debacle of the male viera, I can't speak for your feelings cause that is outside of my world. However I'm not going to hold it against you if you feel upset about it. I was more personally upset about no female hrothgar (currently fem roe and loving it), but its fair to be honest that if they have a female only race they need to balance with a male only race. Will it come out sometime down the road? Who knows. Is it going to kill the game for me? No, I'll just be a little sad about it that is all.

Flip side, people who make threats and demands cause of something they feel did not go there way deserve to get bashed. Especially when the game that has figuratively bent over backwards to get people what they asked for (that is within their time constraint/abilities). Remember when people really wanted some kind of marriage system that did not have gender constraints behind it? That wasn't something that was on the table, but they made it happened cause you the community wanted it. Tell me another game that would do that for you. Did you get it by threatening to take your money elsewhere, or call the staff homophobes and sexists cause its 2019? No, you got it via constructive criticism and feedback.

Yes I understand that the game has flaws, and I am not trying to white knight it. I just want people to be decent human beings cause they're right, it's 2019 and it's about damn time that some of those people shape up.

Well you have to understand people's frustration...SB was honestly FFXIV worse expansion with no actually content and class issues that persist to this day! Now healers have a right to be pissed, not only can SE not belance that role for ish but we got two dps in SB that Honestly could have been waited on, now SBS brings a tank so tanks are happy and yet another DPS -_- but no healer for the second expansion in a row.

The genderlock has always been a dumb thing that locks people into feminine and masculine roles that they prefer not to be in especially when viera was not gender exclusive until now lol. So let people voice their opinions becuase SE needs to get their ish together before this is their last expansion

I honestly it seems like you hate SE If you hate the guy that much why are you paying for a sub and with a full character in the first place?

This is my second account. I manage an FC on my main account on PC, while playing with my partner on another account on PS4. I don't want to get into that. But I have the Asuran Armguards (1.0 item) and have been playing since 2012-13 or so. None of which makes anything I said less true.

When devs have said putting male characters in the same exact bunny suit that they happily put the female characters in made them "uncomfortable" yeah I am pretty sure it's safe to call that sexist.

Next time I am at work and a female employee comes to me to do the lifting cause they feel they don't need to i'll make sure to let them know how sexist they are

I'll explain what I wrote in simpler terms. Square Enix employs Koichi Sugiyama a man who makes disparaging comments about the LGBT and denies Japanese war crimes (specifically "comfort" women). For that reason alone I don't think it is particularly wild to accuse them of allowing, enabling, or acting on sexist behavior.

I know this isn't the place for it, but every time I see that brought up - I just have to mention that hormones do this by default. That was me mentioning a time when a large addition was made to the game at the players behest, but congratulations for focusing in on the keywords that trigger you. I do think it's great they changed it to allow same sex characters to get married. But here's the thing, they could have avoided that whole controversy and gotten more praise if they allowed them to get married from the start?

What do you mean "so what"? Denying Japanese war crimes isn't a big deal in Japan, maybe. But to the rest of Asia it's a huge deal. The Chinese use Japanese war crimes in their propaganda to inspire nationalism. South Korean outrage over a US NBC anchor saying they were grateful to Japan's role in their economic development got him fired. And considering Sugiyama's comments were about comfort women I do think it is fair to say Square Enix is a little tone deaf when it comes to sexism.
