The trailer alone was enough for so much hype. Add to that two new jobs, one of which has a gunblade and it's done. Hype explosion. Also the story about bringing night to a light infested world is just such a cool concept.

I'm honestly torn.
I'll respect OPs wishes and not really get into those subjects as they have already been hashed out at length elsewhere, but yesterday's news about genderlock and dancer as a DPS was rough. I used the Viera lore to flesh out a character that I was excited to play; I don't get to do that and that stinks for me. I don't personally agree with genderlocking in general, but inward reflection has shown me the main reason I'm so bummed is that my personal character plans are dashed. That's all I have to say there.
RE: Dancer, it was presumed that it would be a healer, and I got hyped on that presumption. My bad, but I'm disappointed nonetheless. All this time I was saying Dancer or Geomancer heals would be the thing that might get me playing heals.
These come after a bunch of decisions that SE has made that have not sat well with me, such as limited BLU etc, and an overall feeling that I am not meshing well with the content recently. Plus, something about Shadowbringers and the associated announcements has felt off to me. I don't know what, but... I don't know. I hope the devs and Yoshi are taking care of themselves because they seem pretty run down from what I've seen.
On the other hand... lordy does the story look interesting. The first shard is intriguing, exciting, and opens up a lot of possibilities. Stormblood MSQ has been really improving the last couple patches. I watched the final trailer this morning and it gave me goosebumps. That "what's going to HAPPEN" feeling is something I haven't had since HW. SB I couldn't tell what the minutiae was going to be like, but I predicted the broad strokes. This one has some of that mysterious feel back. And the zones and dungeons look gorgeous.
Hrothgar is exactly the bestial race I've felt we needed for a while. Sucks for those who wanted to be a female Hrothgar though.
Gunbreaker looks really cool. Could be a really good way to get people tanking (or in my case, tanking for the first time since 3.0). I am mentally ready to see "adventure in need (healer)" at ShB launch.
I'm gearing up to let my sub lapse - less because of genderlock and DNC and more because I haven't been really satisfied with the game in a while, even with long breaks during this expansion cycle. But I'm not 100% on doing that either.
To be clear, I want to be excited! I want to feel the hype I've felt in the past for the expansions. But I'm not there yet - I haven't preordered and I'm not sold on buying the expansion at all yet. But that's not to say future reveals won't get me there.
well the topic says who is excited, and thats my opinion why i am not excited if you dont like it then dont read it
The new zones look interesting. More story. I love Nier Automata so I am looking forward to the new raid. I will try out dancer. The new races look good. Overall I am excited.
The story and the trailers look like they're going to be top notch. The concept of going to the shard where a flood of light threatens to consume everything blows my mind, mostly because, I don't know, have we seen light floods get any representation in past FF games? I know in FF3 we talk to the Warriors of Darkness who fought in ages past against a flood of light, but I don't recall seeing anything that actually show what a "flood of light" actually looks like. Maybe somebody can educate me because I haven't played too many FF games.
Darkness Consuming the World is so ubiquitous in fantasy it has reached trope/meme status. This could be an interesting change up.
Crystarium looks like my dreams of a guillotine lawn item might come true.
I just can't get excited. I haven't seen anything cool for Crafting or Gathering, so far it's entirely disappointing.
I really like the way dancer looks. Im excited to see their ability animations, and see how they fit within a party composition.
imagine a DANCER performance mini-game like the Bard one! where you do different movements by pressing certain buttons! that would be really cool.
