Clearly what needs to be done now is the PC modders need to go to work making mods for every single piece of headgear and send the specs in to Squeenix. If everyone does the work for them they\\'ll put it in right?

So what about Tincans Like Heavy Mythril Armor and Robes like Darklight or Vermillion? Or even the full body piece like the Odin set from Mor'dhona? How will these work on Viera and Hrothgar? :3
I don't feel like a bunny myself, but I can see how this is disappointing. Miqo'te have special shapes for helmets with protruding ear lobes, so it would make sense for the Viera to have something similar. Probably not fully covered ears due to their size, but some kind of ear holes would make sense. Let's hope they make the necessary modifications in the future.
On the other hand I'm very conscious about my looks, including issues caused by game engine limitations. Coat with a hood that clips with my hair? Can't use it. Mount clips with my skirt? Unacceptable. Flaps that behave in silly ways when my character kneels or sits? Nope. I might make a Viera retainer but won't make her wear anything that clips her ears either.
If I understood the post correctly, glasses will be disabled as well? That's just silly, they don't even clip with any facial features.
If I was to change it wouldn't bother me anyway. I seldom show a head piece anyway, it's always hidden unless it's something like daisy corsage etc. Not a fan of covering my characters face, especially when. Doing story. Feels really disconnected
Though I do wonder how it will work when levelling etc and when using time gear at end game. If I go to a dungeon now with a level 60 headpiece as it was my AF gear and it's Dona castle you can bet I'll appear in te Duty Finder Horror thread here lol
With these races they probably now won't have any head gear between 60 and 70 unless they allow the like of shisui and other non helmed headsets but yea...could it leave a big gap in your ilvl and stats as a result?

I am ok with this, as long as they get some armor in the future. From a in world point, it makes sense for more specialized needs to be more difficult to get. So they may just used to not having easy access to hats. But with more special items on the market just for them![]()
Not sure what you mean here? You can still equip head gear as Viera or Hrothgar and get all the stats from it, it will just be invisible. Are you suggesting that because the head piece is not visible players will forget or ignore it?Though I do wonder how it will work when levelling etc and when using time gear at end game. No I was under the impression that barring a few select pieces (probably AF ear) we wouldn't be able to equip any head piece. Didn't know it could be equipped but just not visible
We really need better clarification on this than a vague line on a slide saying "unique heads" and needing to sort through vague and badly translated interviews.
For all we know the next logical conclusion is all previous hairstyles being locked and Viera and Hrothgar only able to use their own unique hairstyles.
As in the face is not just a larger or smaller Hyur-based face with additional appendages such as Miqo'te ears, Au Ra's horns, or Elezen's knife-ears. That the faces fit within an allotted size frame that allow gear to be easily up-scaled or down-scaled with no real additional work. Hrothgar's muzzle looks to stick out longer than the other PC races. Viera's faces look to be more vertical than the other races, as well as a semi-muzzle; their foreheads look farther back compared to their nose, lips and chin.We really need better clarification on this than a vague line on a slide saying "unique heads" and needing to sort through vague and badly translated interviews.

Kind of like this:

... Or it just looks like that to me because they have mainly been shown standing full on and any side views I've seen have been in trailers, where perspective is a bit skewed sometimes.
