I will not purchase anything more from the mog station, and I will be unsubbing and requesting a refund on my pre-order of shadowbringers unless this is changed before launch. I will not support gender inequality in any medium.

I don't normally post on the forums but I really hope the backlash makes them reconsider adding male viera and female hrothgar.

I've been waiting for a beastial race that's not a hyur with animal parts. To those saying femroes are the least popular race I would have played one if they were less human. If you want to play a character with beastial features your stuck with "moe" because it's the ONLY option for that type of character.

So you want them 3 months before the relase of a massive expansion to devlope 2 completly new charackkter models that also fit for all the amory items in the game.... or else you would not pay 15 Bucks in a month. Not get me wrong tehr etehy really should add the other genders but I think you are kind of unrealistic here.

There is no good reason to make Viera gender locked "due to lore". In fact, the sudden influx of female Viera as adventurers would mean the men would follow them out of the forests due to the sudden shortage of female. I don't think I need to explain what I mean by that last part but the Viera Forests are looking mighty like a sausage party these days.

As for the Hrolthgar, we know nothing about them but anything short of "they come out of cloning vats" is going to have to be very good.

If the Devs decide to implement male/female Viera and Hrothgar, we're going to lose out on future content due to time constraints. I guarantee it! These requests/demands don't come without a cost! Damn fools...

Well tehy could be constructive and ask Square how many manpower and money it would cost to make it right now and than make a gofundme instead of demanding what is unrewaslistic in the requested timewindow or reasoning with square about ok we get the retrain but please add the otehrs variation at a later point. That or they can thow a tantrum in the forum without a plan.

Agreed, I was promoting the game to friends as one that promoted equality between genders (with how freely we can eternal bond and gear that is equally sexy on males and females) only to have this come up.

I can understand if it was a time-limited option, but it's still upsetting. Viera now feel like nothing more than fetish fuel and Hrothgar feel like a furry attempt to disguise fragile masculinity by saying look, female characters can only be sexy and males are big and buff only how dare they be otherwise.

This isn't what any of us wanted if it was going to be done in such a half-hearted way. I'd have rather gotten no new races.

I am very disappointed with the gender lock. It is just insane in a game that has been as progressive as FFXIV. Very sad.

But it's not completely new. They reused character models for the bodies so they didn't have to refit all the armor and they've said that neither Viera or Hrothgar will have helmets show up on it (not even glasses upon release) so....

That is the vibe I'm getting. It seems like the majority that want Viera men could care less about Hrothgar women. While the OP champions for no locked genders, at the very end decides to leave out the Hrothgar ladies.

Female Viera aren't supposed to either, but they do anyway. There is always going to be an exception. Even the hivemind Gnath had rebels.

Apparently, not enough to warrant them to number in the tens of thousands as adventurers.
