Time to teach you how to count because it's not as simple as Tank, DPS, Healer:

Melee DPS: DRG, NIN, SAM, MNK = 4
Ranged DPS: MCH, BRD = 2
Magic DPS: BLM, SMN, RDM = 3
Tanks: PLD, WAR, DRK = 3
Healers: WHM, SCH, AST = 3

With this expansion it will become 4,3,3,4,3 which is much more even.

Why did they choose to add another tank instead of another healer? Arguably easier to put in a tank and give it an identity than to put in a healer and give it an identity with the way things currently are. I'd expect a new healer next expansion at the earliest.


Anyway that aside, anyone who would get on board with this non-sense has too much time on their hands.

BLU is a Magical DPS. Even though it's under level 60 right now and not made for content suited towards a normal traditional party, let's not forget about the Heffalump in the room. It's still a magic based DPS. So that's still 4 for that section at least.

Aside from all this, I think the thing that a lot of people seem to forget, is that the FFXIV TRUST system is taking into account the need for healers/dps/tanks being non existent (outside of party finder and duty finder or squadron missions). FFXIV trust system is designed and built around being able to play the MSQ solo, which means the dungeons connected to them. So, I mean... when you think about it, neither jobs will really be affected. While it is sad that healers got the shaft, people will be able to play through the MSQ both in trusts and with friends/companies or duty finder however they want (going into ShadowBringers). I imagine they'll be touching up on the topic tonight at 6PM PDT (for PLL) and the last one in MAY before the release of early access in June 2019.

Ok, you just like DPSing, fine, but the game doesn't turn arround you and what you prefer. We talk about 4 years without any new healers, while there is 11 DPS job with the dancer. And there is lots of room for new type of healing/jobs, it's not because you can't imagine it that it means there is no more rooms for it. I could also say "oh I don't like DPSING and it was fine with the 5 original DPS, no need for more, you already have melee DPS, ranged DPS and mage DPS, there is no more room for anything new".

Not sure where you're getting 11 dps jobs; Dancer puts it at 10 and they're all different types of DPS so it's not as broad as you make it seem.

I actually forgot about BLU and I wouldn't bother counting it since it's in it's own category of Limited Jobs; In any case my point is that dancer being a ranged DPS makes sense because rather than further increase the gap between the type with the most jobs and the type with the least jobs, this serves to close that gap.

At the same time, nothing new for main healer role for 6 years, it's 100% legit to say that we won't heal and switch to another role. After all, we also want new jobs, and it seems we'll have to DPS or Tank for that.

I like how every time you speak the length of time gets longer. For the record, Heavensward came out in 2015 so check yourself.

Is that implying that AST was OP at launch because if remember correctly, the class was underwhelming and was in dire need of buffs and changes during its launch..

It was underwhelming to the point that when they buffed it it became OP. Granted that wasn't until.... what, 3.4?

If a queue is taking too long as a DPS, I can just switch to a healer/tank to get through it quicker. Not a big deal for me if all healers that read this decided to never queue for anything as a healer.
