Just because of leaks and bugs im not obligated to trust these. And everyone tried to stay positive on this subject, because we knew everyone who shows up in this thread is just excited for seeing them.
And yes lore stated more than enough that they do not exist to us, but that lore has been contradicting itself so many times.. so it doesnt matter where its stating. Unless its an official statement things will be always unclear.
And whats happening right now?
People ragequit and make a big tantrum. Like always. Eureka release, Bluemage being announced, but it will settle down and people that deeply care for it will still fight for a change. A change like having Male Miqo/Female Roe/Highlander, same sex eternal bond and Viera (even if female for now)

But not believing actual game files stating that a second race is coming and knowing how the dev team is to assume we will get only one pair is on you. Yoshi didn't say anything because he was saving Hrothgar for Tokyo, simple. You guys built your own hype up and now you're crashing and it's your own fault. Definitely fight for a change, but this amount of disappointment could have been negated. You were not "lied to", I've seen that thrown around a lot and it's ridiculous.

I always tell people, its never good to ride that hype train, because when it crashes you get screwed. I am all for getting excited about new content, but I keep my expectations in check as I do. That way when something is different then I thought it would be (like Dancer being a DPS) then I dont get upset.

I'm disappointed by the gender lock but not overly surprised given how accurate the leaks were.

I hope that the people that were interested in female Viera and male Hrothgar are happy with the designs and I hope that SE considers adding male Viera and female Hrothgar in the future.

But if they are queers let them be queers if they want to play feminine male characters let them no one will judge you for the others personal preferences, either is not your sexual orientation that defines you, you don't need to hold a sign in your forehead with it persons will talk to you anyway.

I'm excited for the new races though I'm equally disappointed in both races being gender-locked. I got a feeling that they will be implemented in the future just from the amount of backlash in 1 day already..

So the leaks were 99% accurate if not 100%.
What's more infuriating is that Yoshi said years ago in an interview that didn't want to make male Vieras because they look weird for him.
Which makes the whole thing even more ridiculous.
Yoshida seems that he forgot that he develops for us and not for him or his team.
Seems all the XIV success took it's toll on him and he went deaf and blind to simply ignore what the fan base wanted.
We are slowly going back to the 1.0 mistakes with gender locking.
Him and his team need to stop treating everything they develop like their own personal sexual taboos.

Personally, I don't care about Male Viera, they have been mostly non-existent since previous FF games, and isn't it in the lore that they don't really associate with others? That would be pretty lore breaking, just for the sake of making Westerners Happy. I think the only way they would come out of seclusion is if there was a total world ending event that they can recognize as their problem and need to collaborate with others to fix.
We aren't QUITE there yet, but looking at the Map towards the end at the far right, that might happen...so we MIGHT get them later.

Female Hrothgar/Ronso...Im on the fence. I have a Cat bias, would love to play a female...but they arn't NEEDED. Plus I think they were just made in the first place just to counterbalance the female only Viera
