You are obsessed by your own definition of blackmail, which blinds you from the fact we are not using yours. Nobody is pretending there is "the action, treated as a criminal offence, of demanding payment or another benefit from someone in return for not revealing compromising or damaging information about them". Are you able to understand some words are polysemous and this thread is about the players who "make threats (unsubbing, bad buzz, forum pressure, rallying on forums, flooding) to harm (less player,s bad communication, degraded image) a company or organization if they do not do something you want (implement male viera, female hrotgar)???

What is wrong with you guys you are so intellectually self-centered? You are totally besides the point of this thread.

Besides, semantic isnt even my main point. My main point is the amount of crying players who are organizing a boycottantrum over something secondary: having such race. Its like boycotting a food producing firm because they changed the colour of their products packaging, it is disproportionate, it is childish, it is a disgrace to witness.

People wanted male Vieras, ok, this is a valid wish. Organizing boycotts, threatening to leave the game (races is what % of content? of the experience? How have you managed to endure the game without Vieras, since their male version is so capital to the experience?) is so disproportionate it is degrading, not only for you but for the whole community.

Just imagine an IRL discussion:

- hey Son you liked this game, how is it you don't play it anymore?
- Well, they didn't release the Viera male race
- In english please.
- They didn't release one kind of character I could play.
- Aww what was it?
- A male rabbitman
- ... It was powerful, with interesting gameplay you remember from a previous FF right and now you are disappointed?
- Nah Dad, it was just a male model with rabbit ears...
- This is what is stirring up your community ? Rabbit people and the lack thereof?
- But its vital to the experience!

You talk about people being self-centred yet you fail to recognise that people will take things differently. Your following sentences add to the confusion.
Do you not understand what people would take "blackmail" for?

Do you understand that people are telling you that your premise is horrendous because of your misuse of certain words?
Even if one were to take into account the actual substance, it would still fall flat when you are calling people who want to protest about certain issues a "disgrace".

For what conceivable reason would you hold such a stance on a choice that is well within their right to take and there is nothing "disgraceful" about it.
Unless naturally they reverted to ACTUAL "blackmail".

Also please realise that people are NOT ONLY UNSUBBING BECAUSE OF THE VIERAS. Some people are concerned with the entire package. It could be limited BLU, it could be gender lock, it could be the lack of healers. How many times though, does this have to be presented to you? Since some people may be worried about the direction of the game itself.

Even if we take these meanings that are often hidden behind that word away, you still said in your title and OP that people who are leaving the game and writing about leaving the game are a disgrace. That alone is already quite bad. We are customers, and like with any product we can leave if we dislike something. There is no disgrace in that. And just because a race is not important for you it might be for others. And I am quite sure that most of these people already had other problems in the game and that was just the breaking point.

In the end people can leave and people have the right to write about this on the forum. Its not like there are any other ways to tell SE why they are leaving and at least SE can understand it, and not just stand there and wonder why a customer (maybe even long time customer) silently left which gives them no ways to change.

Also people are not forced to read topics. I can understand that it might get annoying if you like a lot of things and you see a lot of negativity. But you can create your own topic about this and talk about positive things and you can ignore the other topics too.
