They stack under Diurnal why not Nocturnal. You basically loose the aspected part of the heal under Nocturnal. If it is too much damage reduction then add something else or reduce the reduction a bit when stacked.

If my memory isn't completely bad, they're adding a shield meter or something like that with the expac. This implication is this will allow shields to stack, but the total amount of shielding that can be on a character will be limited.
With more details coming on the battle system soon, hopefully we'll find out if these implications are right and see exactly how it works.
I never got that impression. Just that the things that can already stack now will have a visible indicator of how much more damage they can soak.

SCH's Galvanize doesn't stack, the one with the highest barrier amount stays active and anything less has no effect. It's no different for AST, Noct Aspec Ben and Helios give the same buff, as opposed to their Diurnal counterparts which are treated separately so you get two buffs instead.
