I'm disappointed with how ignorant you are. I don't agree with it but what they are doing is boycotting, not blackmailing. Visuals and imagined visuals are an integral part of fantasy fiction and the RPG genre.

But on topic, leaving the game is not blackmailing.

Since Square Enix is a business, and they're acting like a business, we're customers. We as customers have a right to criticise or protest, and said protest may come as us not buying the product, boycotting it. The others explained already the situation.
Even addressing that it's not just cosmetics.

I for one am not going to buy Shadowbringers, and I'm not going to remain subbed because of BLU's treatment and the current implementation of the "limited jobs". Until BLU becomes a job that can be played as any other normal job, I'm going to stop "buying" this product. It is within my right to do so, if the others are upset about something they hold dear then they're more than welcome to do the same.

It's this streak of bad decisions that simply made things worse, completely avoidable on SE's part, that I am wondering why are people even defending it. This is what is more baffling to be fair.

Once your sub expires you have no access to post on the forums. That said if your character has not logged in to the game after a period of time , I think 14 days, you still can’t post on the forums.

lol saying you'll unsub is not blackmail. Are you saying people should keep playing and paying for something they don't want? Voting with your wallet is fine. I do think the conversations of the people unsubbing should be kept to one thread though, just so SE understands how many will be leaving.

Just like this could have been said in any of the other threads with people complaining about people complaining.

I understand that, however you're accusing people of blackmail, which is a crime and not what people are doing. And since we're bringing up meanings, let's consider that in the context of a business-consumer relationship the act of stopping one's patronage due to dissatisfaction with the service is not the same as:
