They're literally shooting themselves on the foot.I didn't care about dancer, I cared about healing. Utter disappointment. People who got limited blue at least got something in the form of BLU. People who wanted dancer as a healer at least have dancer. People like me who only wanted a new healer got literally nothing. I want to wait until the interviews come out before I go off too much, but 5.0 hype is destroyed right now.
Their competitors have nothing to show for themselves, BFA is a massive flop, GW2 is stagnant and nothing is out. ESO is stagnant just as much.
And what happens? They manage to accomplish this.
And in regards to BLU it would have been better to not get BLU at all instead of getting this "limited" experience that didn't last a second and serves only to anger the BLU fans.
ESO is getting a new chapter very soon btw Elseiwheir (or however it is spelled) Khajit homeland with dragons.

Considering how closely it resembles Bard in older FFs with buff / debuff songs/dances, I'm surprised it wasn't the most-expected role for it to be honest. I think more people are bothered that there's no healing job at all, as opposed to Dancer not being one.

You don't like it because you don't understand it's potential or what they meant by limited.

This is the saddest thing. With their competitors on the ground, they shoot themselves when this is the time they should be shooting for the stars. They're literally shooting themselves on the foot.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
I don't like it because Blue Mage is my favourite class in all of final fantasy, and now I can't main it in this game or even continue playing it because i ran out of content for it in a week.
Savage Completion Rate ~5%+ of active players. Community: "Ugh stop catering to savage"

While I don't main/play healer often, I completely understand why healers are disappointed.
When this summer rolls around, it'll have been 4 years since a healer was added to the game. If you've been playing for that long and only played healing classes exclusively, that's 4 years of the same 3 healers. Sure they've gotten new skills and reworks over the years, but they aren't anything new.
I've been playing tanks for over 5 years and I have to admit that halfway through Stormblood I was having role-fatigue. All the tanks felt the same to me and I had been doing it for so long that I was just bored with it. I'm sure there are healer mains out there who feel/felt similar to that too. However, when Gunbreaker was announced I was really excited that the role I had mained was getting something new. Sure, come Shadowbringers I might not like it, I might fall back into that same role-fatigue, and I might feel like they're all the same and not want to play tank again. But for now, the excitement has made me pick back up tanking and I eagerly look forward to Gunbreaker. Sometimes a little bit of hype is a good motivator.
Now healers that are in that same boat were probably giddy as heck when they started watching the Dancer teaser. It's been 4 years since we had a new healer job, we just got 2 DPS for Stormblood (3 if you really want to include BLU) and they just announced a new tank. It makes perfect sense to assume that the second job would be a healer. I can't even imagine how devastating it would be to hear that we're getting a 3rd (or 4th, again, if you want to include BLU) DPS in 2 expansions and tanks are once again getting something that you're not despite healers being considered a high demand role as well (I'm looking at you, 6 tank exclusive mounts).
I don't think healers are necessarily upset that Dancer isn't a healer, they are more upset that they are being left out. If we had gotten a healer and DPS for Shadowbringers instead, I know I'd be upset as a tank. I'd be sitting here thinking, "Tanks are the most in demand role, that's why we have exclusive mounts and why they added clusters to some of the roulettes. Sure healers are in demand too, but they aren't as rare as us tanks and we have more DPS than braincells in the Duty Finder. Why are they doing this?" Sure we don't need a 4th healer. But do we need a 4th tank? A 10th (11th if you, again, count BLU) DPS? No. But it does get you excited to try that role/try something different in that role.
So to those who main healers, play healers, love healers and are disappointed. I am so sorry. I hope the job adjustments are wonderful for you and make you feel better, but I completely understand your frustration.

People already worked out what it means.
It means a job that you can only use for a couple of hours and then leave to rot because even if you wanted to play it there would be nothing to do.
It also means that it WILL lag behind the other jobs, so it will not be able to do current content or even follow the STORY.
It also means that you can't do stuff like Eureka, or HoH, etc.
It means going through RNG for abilities that need not be RNG.
Finally, it also means they're willing to butcher other jobs for the sake of cheap content, as it all sets a terrible and dangerous precedent on how they can treat ICONIC jobs.
All of this masquerading it all under the pretense of "balance" and "enjoyment".
Bonus: It lets people understand that "limited jobs" the way they are now, have been ultimately unnecessary and do not corroborate what Yoshi-P said regarding the indivisible necessity because they're so "intrisecally" tied together so that certain jobs may exist.

I don't care that Dancer wasn't a healer, I care that there has been no healer reveal period.
I was so jazzed when I saw Dancer in the trailer and thought... "Finally, finally they've done something potentially unique with a healer class". To have SE turn around and be like "Lulz, no healer for you, it's a DPS". My anticipation/excitement tanked, like 100 to 0. I honestly don't care about the expac anymore at this point; they've actually ruined it for me.
I am so friggin' salty I can't even right now and if I see one more thread about gender-locking on Viera and how unfair it is while the Healer elephant in the room just quietly stands there I'll probably table flip.
